About the Author

The old saying goes, “Everyone would like to have written a book, but nobody wants to write one.” But what happens if you had the discipline to set words to paper but can’t find a willing publisher? Paul Chika Emekwulu, a self-published author of three books says publish it yourself. While a teacher at Boys' High School, Uga, Nigeria, he self-published a math pamphlet which sold 100 copies in its first printing and 1000 copies in a second printing. Shortly after, he immigrated to the United States, where his fascination with writing and publishing led him to write his first, full-fledged book, Magic of Numbers. a book once adopted by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Washington D.C. Public Schools. Emekwulu self-published his first edition of Magic of Numbers out of sheer hardship. When he couldn’t pay for professional typesetting, he made his typewriter his best friend and used it to prepare the camera-ready copy. This endeavor led to his second published book, How You Can Become A Successful Self-Publisher In America & Elsewhere. According to Emekwulu, the goal of this book is to motivate people to write and publish their own works. Emekwulu said self-publishing worked years ago for writers like Mark Twain, Upton Sinclair, James Joyce, and a list of other impressive writers.

Before teaching at Uga Boys’, Emekwulu had taught at Central and Community Primary Schools, Ebenato in Nnewi Local Government area of Anambra state, Nigeria.
