5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT BOOK TO HAVE AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
This book is a must read for anyone who has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, or who suspects they may have FMS. 1.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps ok for a starting point.
For the newly dx patient, this book has some of the answers. Unfortunately, they are spread very thin by trying to cover a very wide range of cases and situations.

There are more comprehensive books on the market that offer a bigger bang for the buck. Check out those by Devin Starlanyl for more complete information for both the patient and the professional.

This review is from: Fibromyalgia: A Comprehensive Approach What You Can Do About Chronic Pain and Fatigue (Paperback)
This book has proven stratagies. I am in at least 50% less pain because of this book. Simple things that you normally wouldn't think of are in this book that can help you! This should be in everyone's book case who has this terrible affliction. There is no definate cure, but you can get your life back and this book can help! Great resources, drugs, vitamins, etc.. Great suggestions. I was even skeptical at first, but it worked for me and I think it will for you if you give it a chance..

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must" read for anyone suffering with fibromyalgia, January 31, 1999
This review is from: Fibromyalgia: A Comprehensive Approach What You Can Do About Chronic Pain and Fatigue (Paperback)
I came across this book on the Internet one night when I was hurting and crying and didn't know what else to do. I believe it changed my life because up until now no one could tell me how to stop hurting. Everyone diagnosed with fibromyalgia should read this only if to understand yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maximum help, low level comprehension, April 27, 2000
This review is from: Fibromyalgia: A Comprehensive Approach What You Can Do About Chronic Pain and Fatigue (Paperback)
I am an RN with FM. I have found Miryam's book to be excellent, no nonsense assistance that can be readily incorporated into everyday life. I keep it in the bathroom to review areas I'm having difficulty with while I'm "resting".

5.0 out of 5 stars If you have FMS, You and your family should read this book., August 11, 1997
This review is from: Fibromyalgia: A Comprehensive Approach What You Can Do About Chronic Pain and Fatigue (Paperback)
This book takes a different approach to Fibromyalgia than any other in my library. It addresses the disease in both male and female patients as well as children. It has actually case studies that hit very close to home, especially for me who had this disease as a child but was not diagnosed until I was 31. It also give wonderful advice on discussing FMS with your spouse, children and parents (who can be the most difficult to convince that they did not raise a perfectly healthy child). It also offers great advice on intimacy and closeness with your spouse or partner and how to maintain your relationship throughout the major flares without losing the relationship. Miryam Ehrlich Williamson also leaves the reader with many health, support and medical resources. It truly is "The first complete sourcebook of medical and nonmedical strategies for relieving the agony of fibromyalgia."

5.0 out of 5 stars A "bible" for this fibromyalgia sufferer, June 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Fibromyalgia: A Comprehensive Approach What You Can Do About Chronic Pain and Fatigue (Paperback)
When I first started to read this book, I felt like it was me they were describing in many of the chapters. It gives many of the common diagnostic & treatment methods as well as some alternatives to try. The section on lifestyle modification was the most helpful for me. There is also an excellent section for younger patients.

4.0 out of 5 stars A comprehensive, easy-to-understand masterpiece!, August 8, 1998
This review is from: Fibromyalgia: A Comprehensive Approach What You Can Do About Chronic Pain and Fatigue (Paperback)
I have read this book several times -- mainly because as my own fibromyalgia symptoms change, I need to focus on some other aspect to help myself get through it. This book provides that. No 10-syllable words, no promises of backflips by the end of the book. But what you do get is a genuine understanding of what is going on inside your body and what you can do to help yourself.
