No Cookbook in Fibromyalgia,
This review is from: Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide To Becoming Healthy Again (Paperback)
The titile of this book is a misnomer. A cookbook entails a list of recipes. There is not one recipe or even a selection of certain types foods available to help fight fibromyalgia. It was completely useless to me as it only included what most of us already know about fibromyalgia diet, such as avoiding caffeine. The lists and diary type incluseion for each day could be done on a simple lined tablet. Ifg the book had been entitled Fibromyalgia Diet it might have helped mitigate my dissapointment in it, but Fibromyalgia Cookbook it is not.

An excellent step-by-step guide to becoming healthy again.,

This book walks you through the program Mary, her daughter, and now many others, used to regain their health. It utilizes lifestyle changes including diet, pain control, getting adequate sleep and exercises found to increase strength and decrease pain. I found the book to be so helpful that I now use it as a "workbook" for our fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue support group. After only a few months, our members are reporting amazing improvements in their symptoms. It is the perfect compliment for the Getting Well Support Group Leader's Guide that I use.

What a disappointment!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide To Becoming Healthy Again (Paperback)
This book must have been so easy to write - virtually the same set of words on each and every page. Why not simply say try to cut down on caffeine, carbonated drinks, alcohol, chocolate, cigarettes and refined sugars? I had already cut out the above, so the book was no good for me at all. I was looking for recipes and advice regarding the foods I need to eat to help reduce my symptoms - but the book contains not a word about healing foods! The book will be useful to stumulants addicts only. Very amateurishly-written, too, I might add.

Where are the recipies!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide To Becoming Healthy Again (Paperback)
Whereas I do believe in the content of this book on FM, I must say that the title is misleading! I bought it thinking it would be full of recipies - there are none to be found here!

Very Helpful,

This review is from: Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide To Becoming Healthy Again (Paperback)
This book was extremely helpful for me due to the fact that I have a lot of fibro fog and very low energy. The day to day lists in this book help me stay focused and on track with the things that help me feel better. The title is misleading, but I had read the description of the book provided by amazon.com, therefore, I was aware of what the book was really about before I bought it. The book is very simple, which is a help for those with fibro because it is easy to get overwhelmed and confused. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to take an aggressive stance on their health, but needs some guidance and a format to follow.

A Blessing With Flaws,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide To Becoming Healthy Again (Paperback)
There are two schools of thought in the fibromyalgia universe: (1) Mask the pain and cope or, (2) take charge of your own health. If you belong to the first school, DON'T BUY THIS BOOK! The book is poorly documented and as such, asks you to make an incredible leap of faith based solely on the author's personal experience. If you are of the second school, BUY THIS BOOK! As a former distance runner, I was already a believer in the inherent power of the changes the book promotes. It just helped to reawaken them and it guided me through those first, tough weeks. In that sense, it was a blessing. Former workaholics and former athletes, go for it. Others, steer clear until you have spent more time studying natural therapies.

Title Misnomer,
By Pat Gerhards (Panama City, Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide To Becoming Healthy Again (Paperback)
Upon first skimming through this book I was surprised and angry that it was not a "cook book" as the title suggests. After thinking about it and checking the contents out, I realized that the book is going to be a help in gaining control of the symptoms of the syndrome. I think that the author could have selected a more appropriate title for the book to better guide the buyer to information that is exactly what they are looking for.

ALIVE AGAIN!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide To Becoming Healthy Again (Paperback)
First came the anger. Mary was asking me to ask alot, maybe too much, of myself. No wonder people are so opinionated about her work. She challanged me to look first within, then, to the outside, for sources of help. I was desperate, so I accepted part of the challenge, and got some positive results. My involvement grew from there. Now I am about half-way through the book and can see that I will someday be able to live with the same vigor as a "non-fibro" person. And I am no longer angry with Mary, or myself.

This book needed a proofreader,

Having been newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I have gotten almost every book available on the subject. I like the idea of this book more than the execution. It has many many typos and mistakes in it and seems rather amateurish. There are good ideas in it, but over all, there are better books out there from which one could make their own "cookbook."

Joy! Joy! Joy!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fibromyalgia Cookbook: A Daily Guide To Becoming Healthy Again (Paperback)
I must tell everyone how much good this book has done for me. Since purchasing it two months ago I am much improved. I've had fibromyalgia for seven years, so this was just a fantastic discovery. And it is so very easy. At least 75% of my muscle pain has stopped. But perhaps the single best result from the book is that the shear joy of living is gradually returning! Thank you Mary Moeller.
