Awesome rhythm, amazing talent!,

As a big-time fan of Funker Vogt, I felt immediately compelled to check out their side projects. After purchasing and listening to Fictional, I'm finding that I'm blown away by the extreme talent of Gerrit Thomas (the programming genius behind FV and the lyricist for Fictional). The rhythms are smooth and powerful and make you want to move. I find it perfect for when I'm programming. Two of the songs (Blue Lights and Dream of God) feature the lead singer from Ravenous. His voice so crisp and melodic. I very much recommend this CD for anyone who likes Funker Vogt, Industrial, EBM, or Trance. Now I'm going to go buy some Ravenous CDs. :)

Slighty harder synthpop that delivers !!,

This is not your typical light synthpop album. However, I wouldn't call this EBM/hardcore either. For those who are willing to venture out of the usual synthpop genre to experience a new kind of slightly harder/edgier synthpop flavor, this could be your album. Plenty of catchy/dance-floor oriented/electronic tunes here. This album is full of high-energy/stomping beat kind of songs. My favorites are: "Blue Lights", "The System", and "Dream of God." This is not a bad album by any means. However, some people who are into EBM might find this album to be disappointing beacause of it's techno/electronic oriented flavor. And for those who are into light synthpop might find this album to be a little bit too dark/hardcore. So, you have to keep an open mind to expect a blend of techno as well as slightly harder synthpop/EBM here. Bottom line: this album is very refreshing and highly recommended. Peace !!

This album will rock your bottoms off. "Fictional" is one if the best new synth-pop bands out there. Its so great to see great new bands sounding like this. This album is nothing but wonderfully orchestrated music that will make you feel that you are in a state of trance. It makes you escape to another world. Very Trancey and melodic. If you like Trance, Industrial, synth-pop, or EBM, you will love "Fictional". The mezmorizing vocals on "Blue Lights" and "Dream of God", along with dark lyrics are fantastic along with the great synth sounds that will make you dance from begining to the end. Every song is great. They are one of the coolest new electronic acts out there.

I have never been a big ebm/synthpop (whatever you wanna call it) fan even though I dj a Industrial/ebm night. However, I really enjoyed a couple songs off this CD and I get a lot of play out of "Blue Lights" (best song in my opinion) and "Dream of God" on my dance floor. "Blue Lights" is a huge club hit and always packs the floor. I found the rest of the CD to be ok, not great and not bad.As a DJ I would highly recommend buying this CD for "Blue Lights" alone!

A very good CD...,

This CD is excelllent. It has the driving rythms that fans of Funker Vogt are used to, and some down-and-out creepiness (Hangman). The Vocal come through nicely, and the rythms make you wanna move. The only problem is that it slightly slips into the techno-trance route. This is alright in small doses, but here it just seems out of place -> looses rythm, and beat.... Thus the 4 stars instead of 5.
