Wonderful listening, March 28, 2001

I have been listening to Leroy Anderson for at least 20 years. This collection contains many of my favorites. Mr. Anderson is truly an American composer. The selections here represent an independant and joyful spirit.
The Typewriter, Sandpaper Ballet and Plink, Plank, Plunk are very whimsical. This is definitely something that parents could listen to with their children to spark an interest in orchestral music.
I used many of these selections as illustration pieces when I was teaching.
