5.0 out of 5 stars Breaking the "ChickLit" Mold!
I loved this book!! It explores the dark world of infidelity while still being hopeful and encouraging. The main character is the perfect mix of who we all wish we could be and who we all really are deep down inside. This is a must read for any chicklit reader who also likes a thought-provoking story!

3.0 out of 5 stars A cute book with an overall sad message about men
This was a fun read, sort of like following a superhero who's superpower is the ability to cut through the BS and read men, one who is intent on outing cheaters. But wow, it seems like the message here is that 90% of men are scumbags and cheaters. So if you aren't comfortable with that message, this book might not be for you.

I was also amazed that the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing debut for Jessica Brody!, June 11, 2008
This review is from: The Fidelity Files (Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was well-written. The characters felt real and you feel like cheering Jennifer on.The plot was really great. It was like Alias meets Sex in the City. The book was entertaining and it is an excellent debut for Jessica Brody. It makes you wish you knew someone like Ashlyn. This book is a page turner. I finished it in one sitting. I suggest you go out and buy a copy or get one from your library.I can't wait to see what Jessica Brody writes next!

This book was great! I couldn't put it down! Filled with unexpected twists and turns, this book was extremely entertaining. It was also a very original concept - I've never read anything with this storyline before. Overall it was a very enjoyable read and I can't wait for Brody's next book to come out!

4.0 out of 5 stars intriguing tale, June 15, 2008
This review is from: The Fidelity Files (Paperback)
Everyone who knows Jennifer Hunter assumes she is a very successful financier or banker because her job title she uses is "fidelity inspector". However, Jennifer is actually an "undercover" agent using the operative name Ashlyn when a client hires her to test the loyalty and faithfulness of a significant other.

She has so many customers using her service, Jennifer for practical purposes do not exist; she spends more time in her alter ego role. When she successfully exposes a cheating spouse, he vows vengeance. Worse happens when she meets someone who makes her want to get out of the business of kiss-and-telling on philanders, but her recent experiences with one noted Chicago exception with men leaves her with some doubts.

THE FIDELITY FILES is an interesting intriguing tale starring a fascinating woman whose undercover job is exposing cheating husbands. The story line is fast-paced as the heroine and her Hawthorne team makes the rounds for their clients never running only power rush walking. Fans will relish the lead character as Ashlyn's inquiries of the first encounter and Jennifer's relationship issues with men starting with her sneaker clad dad make for an engaging read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, December 23, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Fidelity Files (Paperback)
Jennifer Hunter was a banker before she decided to go into a different line of business. She conducts "fidelity inspections" to see if a guy would cheat on his partner. She has been doing it for several years and is very good at it before several things get in her way

1. Falling in love with a guy she meets on a plane
2. a vengeful man who failed her "fidelity inspection" and wants to get even

All this leads to some very funny situations and a book that is very hard to put down

5.0 out of 5 stars Bold Page Turner, November 12, 2008
This review is from: The Fidelity Files (Paperback)
What a neat book!! I have a hard time finding authors I really enjoy but Jessica Brody really got my attention. I actually checked this one out at the library thinkng I wouldn't enjoy it and I never even expected to finish it. Boy was I wrong. Not only is the main character Jennifer Hunter very likable, you find yourself rooting for her to find her happily ever after. She is very empathetic towards her clients and although they tend to "shoot the messenger" she always seems to understand their feelings and doesn't take it personally. The ending was pretty great, too. It took some twists and turns I wasn't expecting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down!, July 1, 2008
This review is from: The Fidelity Files (Paperback)
The Fidelity Files is a must read for chick lit and non-chick lit fans alike! Brody's writing style is so witty, comical, descriptive and addictive that I honestly did not want to put this book down. It's the perfect combination of chick lit and mystery, and I was truly on the edge of my seat. I loved how the characters were so real, down-to-earth and so likeable, too. The unpredictable story line kept my attention from cover to cover. I devoured this book and cannot wait to see where Jennifer/Ashlyn takes us next. Brody clearly demonstrates in her debut novel that she is an Emily Giffin or Sophie Kinsella in the making!

4.0 out of 5 stars Interview with Jessica Brody, June 24, 2008
This review is from: The Fidelity Files (Paperback)
Being me and loving novels the way I do, I'm thrilled to have gotten the opportunity to explore truth in fiction for PsychJourney and The Northstar Guardians. Fiction can be an emotional and psychological workout, and fiction writers, our personal trainers.

Last week I talked to Jessica Brody about her new novel, The Fidelity Files, which explores the all too real minefield of marital infidelity. Ms. Brody's done her homework and exorcised her conscience while we exercise our reactions to, "what if it were me?"

Her protagonist, Jennifer Hunter is a `fidelity inspector', a woman who goes undercover to the very brink of under-the-covers, to see if the man she's been hired to evaluate will cheat.

3.0 out of 5 stars A cute book with an overall sad message about men, January 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I was also amazed that the protagonist was able to avoid physical injury in this line of work... my own personal experience has taught me that sociopaths will get physical when confronted, and to hurt a spouse by cheating on her repeatedly leads one to believe some of these guys most certainly must have some sociopathic tendencies. At every "assignment" I was anxious for her safety, and then relieved but surprised that the immediate reaction of men she'd outed wasn't stronger than it was.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Loved this One!, February 6, 2010
This review is from: The Fidelity Files (Paperback)
I've been dying to read this book for what seems like forever. Since, for one, it has an amazing book trailer, one of the best ever, and for two it has an interesting premise. So, when I got the chance to read it on my past vacation, I was so excited. And as it turns out, I had every right to be excited. Since, The Fidelity Files is one awesome debut book!

In The Fidelity Files you get a glimpse into the complicated world of Jennifer Hunter (code name: Ashlyn). You see, Jennifer is a secret "fidelity inspector", a person who tests the faithfulness of men all around, acting as a "superwoman" for desperate wives and girlfriends. Jen was definitely one of my favorite female protagonists because I loved her for what she did. Since, this issue of cheating sadly hits close to home for me. Plus, she was a girl that any woman or teen girl could identify with because she has issues from her childhood that were never quite resolved and has hard time letting her true self be exposed at times.

Adding to the awesome main character, the plot was also intense and provided for several twists and turns you didn't see coming. Also, I enjoyed how it has a light side too it because of funny secondary characters.

Lastly, Jennifer's writing was pretty good and it seems that it will only get better as time goes on.

Overall, The Fidelity Files is definitely a book filled with awesomeness, I truly look forward to reading Love Under Cover and lucky for me I have an ARC of it.

Grade: A+
