COUPLE OF POINTS,

Used this to dye some Coach leather goods that I own and I just wanted to make a couple of meaningful points.
A little goes a long way, andf this small bottle will dye a ton of leather things. So, if you are on the fence about getting one or two bottles, get one. It runs a tad darker than you'd think. So, medium brown, like I got, is very brown. Hard to explain, but I'm just letting you know if you are on the fence about going lighter or darker, go lighter. Like the other reviewer said, this stuff is very hard to get out. Once it dries on the leather, it dries firmly and does not rub off. You could buy the leather cleaner tp prep the leather befor applying this product, but I did what many online sites mention and used baby wipes, pre-moistened and unscented. They work wonders on all leather and it's a good tip to use them. Then, once dry, apply this dye. The dobber they give you with this small bottle is very excellent for small areas (less than a few inches across) or for piping.edging. For larger surfaces, you;ll want to buy a few cheap disposable foam paint brushes. Don't for a second get this on your hands (it takes a week to come off totally), on the floor, or even in your sink My stainless steel sink got some from my washing up, and it;s still there a month later. No amount of ammonia and scrubbing seems to take it off, but some Soft Scrub and elbow grease has it improved. And it stains instantly, so best to do this outdoors. I also use Leather Honey for general mosturizing and care, and I've written a review of that product, it;s colorless, odorless, and is slightly oily, it is like clear honey when you put it on, and I like it, too, very much. Enjoy! (Please click that this review helped you, thanks).Leather Honey Leather Conditioner, the Best Leather Conditioner Since 1968, 32 Oz Bottle

Dyed my purse,

I had a very nice leather purse, light beige, that was looking soiled after using it for less than a year.I tried leather cleaners but it still looked dirty. I applied 2 coates of this dye in brown and it looks like a new purse. The zipper even dyed well.Try to remove any dye from metal ares before it dries, it even adheres well there.

This dye does a very good job, but the color was a little too red for me. I went with a dark brown on a large leather recliner and it turned out like new, and saved it from the dump or whatever! It does need to be sealed with "resolene" to keep the dye from rubbing off.

Good product,

Technically I ordered the light brown after reading reviews that the colors run dark, but was accidentally sent this one (med brown). The company immediately offered to correct the mistake, but I decided to give it a try. As other reviewers have said, in its straight form it is very dark - almost black. I diluted it with water to lighten (not sure if I'm supposed to, but...it seemed to work:)) I'm told that the water might harden the leather some, but that wasn't an issue for my project...forums seem to suggest using rubbing alcohol or dye reducer. Also, I didn't bother wearing gloves despite reading other people's comments about it staying on your skin for weeks and in the diluted form it washes off much easier (in a day or so). By diluting I was able to create several colors for my project and was very happy with the results! I definitely recommend test pieces and letting it dry completely before deciding that you like the color as it looks very different dry vs. wet. This was my first experience with leather dye, and I was very happy with it.
