Ultimate Guide to the North American Snakes:, August 19, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: A Field Book of North American Snakes (Paperback)
There have not been many guides to the North American Snakes since the Ditmar's venerable book printed in 1939. Which feels old, may be even outdated. Yet there have not been any changes in the Snake population, type or distribution, in North America for 20,000 years. The snakes, being shy and avoiding humans at any cost hard to observe and create a pictorial fields guide. This book, however contains pictures of snakes and maps of their distribution area. Most pictures are black and white but adequately depicting the subject matter. This is the ultimate book for an ameteur as well as for a scientist. It is out of print and seldom if it ever comes to the market.
