This review is from: A Field Guide to Dinosaurs: The First Complete Guide to Every Dinosaur Now Known (Paperback)
A Field Guide to Dinosaurs: The First Complete Guide to Every Dinosaur Now Known written by David Lambert is an excellent field guide to the dinosauria.

This book is for the young dinosaur hunter or anyone interested in knowing more about dinosaurs. This book in highly illustrated and has comparitive anatomy shown through out the book. This gives the reader an excellent view as to the how and whys dinosaurs are grouped into families.

The book builds on itself as you read on an gives the reader a glimpse of early family life associated with the dinosaurs. People once believed that family life of dinosaurs was as simple as that of most living reptiles. But, fossil nests, eggs and young found from the 1970's on tell us differently.

This book was published in June 1983 and is becoming slightly outdated, but for general knowledge you can't beat it for entry level young people. The book is written in simple and understandable English making for an enjoyable reading experience... especially for the novice.

If you have a young child interested in dinosaurs this book should pique their interest. I give this book a solid 5 stars just for that reason. This book is well-written and covers the basics in the knowledge known to its publication. This book would make an excellent addition to your childs library.
