From Library Journal
In this third book in his "Mysterious Places" series (e.g., A Field Guide to Mysterious Places of Eastern North America, Holt, 1997), Trento covers sites up and down the Pacific coast that purport to offer unexplained phenomena. He includes every type of unusual location, from Native American petroglyph sites to Bigfoot sightings to unusual geographic formations. Each entry includes maps and directions to the location, the name of a contact person, historical background, and data concerning the magnetic field. For those tired of the ordinary vacation destinations, this book would make a good guide for planning something different. An interesting approach to a travel guide; suitable for public libraries but not a necessary purchase.?Sandra Knowles, Sch. of Medicine Lib., Columbia, S.C.
