I purchased this book for the benefit of my grandchildren to use on a fossil hunting trip (they are 9,10 & 12) I found it to be the perfect reference for them. It is explanitory without going too far into technical issues. There are a lot of pictures and descriptions as to what to look for. Each item is cross reference with the page to find it on. The book is small and easy to carry in a pack. Well worth the price paid.
