Elegant, tasty, dress it up or down!

After tasting the Field's sausages, I was so excited about trying this roast. Vegetarian for a long time, recently vegan (a few months), I was encouraged that this product was not a soy meat analogue. I was also intrigued by the look of wrapping it up in puff pastry as shown on the website.
We picked up a couple from a Whole Foods in Santa Fe, NM. I couldn't wait to get it wrapped and into the oven.
It was well worth the wait. Not only was the presentation beautiful, but it tasted great! I don't know what "chemical" taste the other reviewer was referring to, but ours turned out perfect. I couldn't quite make out the butternut squash/apple flavors, but it's all good. I've made it twice more after that, all to rave reviews. Even meat eaters loved it, with a couple not knowing they were eating a vegan meal! It doesn't get better than that.'
I served it once with rosemary potatoes and kale cooked with cranberries and orange.
One word of caution, this 'roast' needs to be warmed up only, so take care not to overcook.
