This is the ideal field guide for both the weekend shell collector and the professional malacologist. It identifies more than 270 shells of the Florida coast by both common and scientific names, and fully describes each one to the last detail.

Book's Title A Little Misleading,
By Bob & Sharon of Vero (Vero Beach, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Field Guide to Shells of the Florida Coast (Gulf Publishing Field Guides) (Hardcover)
Seems a somewhat hasty add-on to Ms. Andrews Texas Gulf Coast shell book. Good in many respects as far as it goes. But pages on obscure miniature shells could have been used to put in many glaring omissions of Florida shells. The book's title implies completeness, but the author's forward warns of being incomplete! The introduction to shells [and shelling] preface is excellent.
