Featuring a true-to-life, first-person perspective, in Field & Stream: Total Outdoorsman Challenge, players explore authentic environments, listen for animal calls, check the ground for tracks and sign, and use 'Scent Vision' to spot and track prey. As their hunting skills progress, players can close in on targets by utilizing special scents and decoys, and by setting up permanent hideouts and vantage points. To further challenge players, and add even more authenticity to the hunt, each mission must be completed while respecting local rules and regulations.

More than 30 big game, small game, predator and game bird species roam each of the multiple environments, which feature exciting wildlife activity and varying weather conditions in both day and night cycles. Gamers can play in serious and casual modes, starting with Practice Mode, where they learn to aim at targets and train with skeet shooting. Free Hunt Mode allows players to hunt any animal without restrictions, regulations or licenses. Players can also experience the thrill of the hunt in Ultimate Hunt Mode-the most challenging, rigorous experience in the game-which requires players to use traditional tracking and stalking techniques to hunt prize catches and brave the wilderness.

I think I wasted my money on this game. The on screen menus are very small and hard to read even on my HD screen. This can be worked around, but the graphics are poor and the amimals have jerky movements. To move around the woods and fields you need to move so slowly it is painful. Worse for me is the choosing of the equipment is not easy as the buttons on the menus don't always work and you can not enter the game with what equipment you finally ended up buying.

Of all the hunting games for the XBOX 360, I have to rank this one at the BOTTOM of the heap. It's got many glitches (you get to a place on the map to move to, and your'e stuck in all directions) and when you go into the "shooting mode" the animals basically go into slow motion so there is not too much skill needed. My biggest complaint thusfar is that you think you have the correct equipment for a hunt, get everything all set up, and then when you bag your first animal, a voice sounding like God says "you cannot hunt that animal with that weapon" BUT... it still adds the animal to your tally sheet. Huh??? Try The Hunt, by Bass Pro Shops, or some of the Cabela's hunting games if you want a more enjoyable and less frustrating virtual hunting experience.

We got on Xbox for Christmas along with this game(Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge Xbox360) from a friend in North Dakota. This game is awesome and perfect for the family. it is the perfect family simulation hunting game, especially if you have younger kids around that you want to teach how to hunt using simulation. The other great thing about game is the effects and vibrant colors are awesome. This game does not hurt any of the kids eyes like the other game we received for Xmas that made their eyes red and hurt them after long hours of play like many other 3D .no matter how long you play on this game no hurting/weary eyes. Even Their 98 year grand father who spent nearly two hours on this game. It is simple to understand and lots of fun. I give this thing 5 stars...perfect for kids as well as adults. if your not into gory killing.This game does not promote violence bu makes a great hunter. This game is the perfect children hunters game!!!
