Easy to read and full of fun information.

Value-wise, most everything in this booklet is in the total outdoorsman manual (TOM) I think there were only 2-3 tips in this booklet that weren't in the TOM.

I've been camping for decades and I learned things about choosing a camp site and tricks about setting up that have made camping a lot more fun. Highly recommended.

I rate it at 3-stars for value and content.

Value-wise, most everything in this booklet is in the total outdoorsman manual (TOM) I think there were only 2-3 tips in this booklet that weren't in the TOM. For a few bucks more, the TOM is 3 booklets put together.

Content-wise, it had a lot of good tips and I liked the layout, graphics, and short article writing style.
It was interesting and easy to read. It's good as a short/general introduction, that said, it didn't go deep enough.

I would have liked to see specific product recommendations, and a more systematic and thorough presentation.

This book is great, gives amazing information while having a little humor involved for a good read. But you can get this material along with the survival book, hunting book, and fishing book, all in the total outdoorsman manual. The best part about that is A) its all compiled into one place and B) Its way cheaper than buying all the books. I actually have the manual, got it for easter last year.

I've been camping/hunting/fishing/hiking/backpacking for yours and still found helpful tips in this book. This is a great book for new and old campers.

There is some interesting info in this book, however most of it is not what I expected it to be. Mostly frivolous information on things you probably won't use, however there are some tips in here that I wasn't aware of. Guess you get what you pay for...

This book is great, if you've never been camping. Honestly, I picked up a few tricks and pointers, but I'm not sure if they are of the "useful" variety or the "merely cool" variety. However, I have checked out some of the things here.

One great thing about all the Field & Stream "Guides" I've seen -- they are very slickly produced and easy to digest. That level of production design probably adds to the price, though.
