Must have for the Waterfowler,

I have used this book for several seasons and I cannot find its equal. The waterfowl descriptions have helped me win debates with less knowledgeable game wardens that cannot discern an eclipsed Mallard from a Mottled Mexican duck. With the hunter's choice & aggregate bag limits you have never had to be surer of waterfowl species than now. Every hunter I show this to immediately want a copy.

This is a very good book. I have been using it to help learn all about how to identify ducks. In the book he explains the difference in the malt phase and how to idetify a duck by it's wing year around. He also goes into the hens. Which other books do not.

Kindle version review - what was I thinking?,
This review is from: Field Guide to Upland Birds and Waterfowl (A Wilderness Adventures Field Guide) (Paperback)
I am a novice upland bird hunter and wanted to start learning to distinguish the various doves, quails etc. This book looked like it would be perfect for that function.
I decided on the kindle version for my ipad as it was cheaper (not just less expensive) and I could get it immediately. I have not read much of the book yet, though it looks very detailed and helpful except for one major disappointment: in the kindle version it is only black and white. What was I thinking? Really not useful at all on the kindle to help identify by looks without color. My bad. Now I will need to buy it in book form. Recommend that if you want the book, do not buy the kindle version.

It is fun and easy to read. The kids are starting to go hunting with me and it is a good way to keep them interested and involved. I like that it is compact and the pictures are very good.
