4.0 out of 5 stars This is a band who definately progrsses., October 11, 2000
By Greg Morgan (Vancouver BC, Canada) - See all my reviews
Pissing Razors, having drawn comparisons to Pantera, Machine Head, Sepultura, and even Fear Factory, are back with thier third album in as many years. The sounds of Feilds of disbelief are definaltley punishing, ranging from slow crunching Macine Head style riffage, to almost a Dillenger Escape Plan and Slayer kind of technical craziness. Garcia's vocals dont change alot throughout this album. They remain a steady but distinguishable growl, remenisent of Burton C Bell and Steve from Skinlab. The guitars are equally as growlly, yet very tight as they have been on Pissing Razors self titled album and Casting Down a Plauge. Which is why Pissing Razors continue to produce an appealing sound. Lacking the production assistance from Andy Sneap on ths album has definately led to some problems, ie: an occasional redundance of tracks. 3-4, maybe 5 of the songs on this album really do sound alot alike and that would be my only major critizizm of this fine album. As mentioned in other reviews, alot of the melody that Sneap creates in the album he produces (Stuck Mojo) is pretty mcuh absent from this album, albeit tracks like Feilds of Disbelief, and Fork Tongue. Having that melodic style for me is essential to create a little bit of variation, and that is my only major complaint about this otherwise fine album. If you are a fan of Pissing Razors i definatley recommend you check this disc out. If youve Never heard Pissing razors, i suggest you start with their earlier work fisrt to get a little taste of Sneap produced material.

5.0 out of 5 stars What did you expect?, March 18, 2001
By Hammerlock (Boulder, CO) - See all my reviews
Once again, Pissing Razors delivers frantic hardcore with the intensity that defines who they are. After the years that have gone by since Pissing Razors released their first CD, they have still barely changed, except to fine-tune their instrumentals, which I think are a little more complex than anything they have done so far. This is exhibited in the more melodic "Between Heaven and Hell", the demonically heavy, bass-ridden "Fork Tongue", and especially the song I think displays Pissing Razor's talent most, "The Other Side", which has an unexpectedly melodic, yet still flawlessly delivered tone to it.

To ANYBODY out there who likes hardcore music, Pissing Razors take the genre one step further than it has ever been before!
