could I take it?,
This review is from: Fields of Little America: An Illustrated History of the 8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division, 1942-45 (Paperback)
As a pilot from WWII I was fortunate that I did not find myself in the 8th Air Force
bombing runs over Germany and this book tells why with real impact. The anxiety of waiting for one's name to be up for tomorrow's mission , the sheer terror of the mission itself ,the empty bunks in quarters after a mission-emotions which pull you from one page to the next. |
