Boers in Africa, good historical fiction,
A historical fiction novel, this is the story of the African Boer trek. In the 10,000 Boers left the safety of the Cape Colony into the unknown of deepest Africa intending to settle and farm in the interior. They were the first to attempt this, and buried many of their fellows along the way. They used a form of covered wagon, and hunted for their food. The new settlers were intent on getting out from under British rule, and obtaining religious freedom in a frontier lifestyle. They brought the oxes, plows, guns, tools, along with their families and bibles. This is the story of their struggles. It is good historical fiction, about a chapter in history I knew nothing about, and I really enjoyed this book. I added a picture up top since they did not have one.
