5.0 out of 5 stars I love it!
My wife and I are starting our 4th set of dishes in 20 years of marriage. We figured if we did the mix and match thing with the colors, we could add a new color instead of changeing an entire set of dishes as pieces get broken, lost or whatever. Over the years I can't tell you what my kids have done to our dishes. They use serving bowls as cereal bowls, take dishes...

They use serving bowls as cereal bowls, take dishes outside and eat. Dig holes in the yard with the spoons. Not to mention how they have this built in ability to chip a dish or two a month. This is one reason we started our fiestaware collection. I like this size bowl for side dishes. The weight and quality speaks when you pick up a piece. I do really love the colors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bowl for teenagers, November 6, 2003
By A Customer
This is the best bowl for teenager portions of cereal, ice cream or spaghetti. They also make good fruit or candy bowls to set on your counter. I do want to warn people that the photos colors for persimmon are too light on this website; the actual bowls are a medium red/orange. I knew this before I ordered it... You can't beat the price free with a four piece setting. We love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for feeding teens and dogs... and it's a serving dish, too!, December 28, 2009

In our house, these bowls are my 15yo son's standard cereal bowl. (No kidding!)

Turns out, it's a really nice dog bowl, too. I started doing this so I could melt some chicken schmaltz I was mixing in with her dry food, and I wanted to put her bowl in the microwave. But I'm not going back to her old metal bowls... I like having colorful bowls for her. So she has one of these for food and a 2-quart for water.

And hey, they're serving bowls, too! And also good for baking cobblers and the like.

Fiesta is amazingly solid and long lasting... I have yet to chip or break a piece in about eight years since I first started working on my set. And of course, there's all the wonderful colors. (Note: I don't buy from Mega any more myself... I tried that once and got several pieces with glazing errors.)

Oh and FYI... I always have a hard time guessing dimensions on Fiesta bowls, so here you go. This one is about 8.25 inches in diameter, outside, and 7 inches in diameter, inside. And about 2.75 inches high total, about 2.25 inches high inside. It holds about half a pound of cooked pasta, depending, of course on what type of pasta that is. (E.g., spaghetti or alphabets, no, those sit densely together. Rotini or shells, yes.)

I used to prefer Fiesta's mixing bowls for large bowls. I like the classic Revere-bowl shape of those. But when our supply of those bowls couldn't keep up with cereal boy and I needed more, I decided to try these 'cause they're cheaper, and now I really like them. I guess now I'm more likely to use the small mixing bowls for serving and these for feeding the boy. These are also the bowl I tend to grab for myself for a large salad that's a meal.

(Note on the mixing bowls. The smallest, aka "421 Small Mixing Bowl" (7.5"), is 44oz.; the middle size aka "422 Medium Mixing Bowl" (8.5"), is 60oz; and the largest, aka "482 Large Mixing Bowl" (9.5"), is 70oz.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bowl!, March 6, 2003

I really like the larger capacity of this bowl. It makes it much more versatile when it comes to finding a use for it. You can use this bowl for everything from pop-corn during your movie to corn-on-the-cob at dinner. It makes a great addition to the Fiestaware collection!

This bowl is perfect. You can use it as a serving bowl, though not for huge portions. Sometimes my husband will use it as a cereal bowl! (It's a bit much, but he loves his cereal). I love how it can go in the oven - just mix your recipe, bake and serve! One dish instead of many, I love that!

It is great addition to your collection. Mix and match, they all look good together.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fiestaware 1 qt pasta bowls....I got what I paid for!, January 13, 2005

While seeing this pasta bowl on sale for $4.99 here at Amazon.com, I didn't think twice to purchase several of them will all kind of color availalbe 2 weeks ago. What a great price! I was so excited and waiting on the door on the schedule delivery day. The packing is nice and secure. The color was so vivid at the first sight, but.... after I took a hard look, almost half of the bowls are defective!! Un-colored white spot, un-glazed bubble holes, black dots/stain inside of the bowl. Even defective spots are tiny, but they are so obvious. They just don't look good with those flaws on them! I was so....disappointed and frustrated as I went through all the 21 bowls I ordered. By the way, the BLACK bowl have no name or mark of the manufacturer on the bottom of the bowl. I will say those are probably the factory-secondary products. It turned out I have to return almost half of the bowls and keep those bowls with bearable defectiveness, such as vague stamp of the manufacturer on the bottom of the bowls. Of course, all the black ones are returned since they are no-name with the bad quality. No one will even believe they are Fiestaware!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic bowls, August 4, 2003
By
I purchased 6 of these pasta bowls in 6 different colors, and they are all great. Each bowl holds a lot and can be used for any food you like beside pasta. They clean very easily and are dishwasher safe. They are heavy and solid made. Each comes very well and individually packaged. Though not necessarily cheap, they are well worth it. Buy more than one and any color(s) you prefer. Thanks Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bowl - very versatile, January 16, 2003
I have several of these bowls (yellow, periwinkle, shamrock, and cinnabar) and I love them! They work well for serving side dishes or they can be used as fruit bowls. They are dishwasher and oven safe and very durable. They are also a great way to add a splash of a Fiesta color you don't already have!

The bowl is a good size and looks like a fiesta bowl but it did not have any markings on the bottom that should have been there.
