4.0 out of 5 stars Smaller than advertised
These mugs hold 16 ounces if filled to the brim, rather than the advertised 18 ounces. It is irksome, because I bought a set of these to replace an old set of 18 ounce Gibson ceramic mugs that we use for everything from cereal to soup. The Fiesta mugs are well made, colorful, and easy to handle. I will keep them because the Gibson mugs don't seem to be made anymore. I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes, size does matter...
I'm with the hubby on a previous review. It's advertised as being an 18 oz. mug and it is most definitely NOT. Using a Pyrex measuring cup I found my mug holds 14 oz. A half cup short makes a big difference. Looks-wise it's okay, but it is too small for my purposes. I feel used.

3.0 out of 5 stars MISLEADING ON SEVERAL COUNTS, September 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These mugs are a disappointment, the colors and the size are inaccurate in the listing. I ordered these in plum, tangerine, peacock, and scarlet.

First off, the colors are very muted, not bright like in the pictures. Scarlet is more like a deep milky watermelon,Tangerine is light and milky. The Plum and Peacock are darker than pictured.

None of them will hold 18 oz.
The bowl of the scarlet cup is visibly larger than the other three, but even it only holds (up to the level top) 17 oz. The maximum any of them hold comfortably is about 15 oz.

There are flaws in the pottery and the glazing as well. The scarlet and Tangerine handles are quite crooked. There are white spots at first I thought were chips on the lip of the plum mug, but they are glazing issues. The Red and plum inside handles have what may have been bubbles in the glaze that are now rough dots/spots on the inside of the handles, which will be annoying while holding them over time.

The listing SHOULD be accurate.
These are still one of the largest capacity mugs I've found-but with the flaws, and color issues, they are a tad expensive.
These should be hand picked by the buyer in a store, so as to see and accept the flaws if desired.
Too much hassle to return.

Buyer beware......

I would rate the mugs 5 stars, but my huband is going to gripe about the smaller size. Sigh.

3.0 out of 5 stars have had 2 for a couple weeks and both handles are starting to break, June 25, 2009
I love the size and color of these mugs, but the handles are already starting to break off (can hear the ceramic moving and can see a crack when you hold the handle). I'm not sure if the 2 mugs I bought were an anomaly or that the product is just poorly put together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile and sturdy, November 30, 2006
This review is from: Fiesta 18-Ounce Jumbo Cup, Peacock (Kitchen)
When these arrived years ago, I was disappointed because they are too wide to keep coffee/tea warm for very long. But lately I have noticed I use them almost every day, for things like cereal, soup and even edamame. I use these more than the Gusto bowls because they are easy to manage and offer a more modest portion size. They're not for coffee, but you'll find dozens of other uses for these jumbo mugs.

These are the best cups they are really large, and very heavy/sturdy. I love the colors too (this is my favorite of the colors)

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for use with Bunn's My Cafe Coffee Maker, July 12, 2006

We have the commercial version of the Bunn My Cafe coffee maker. These jumbo mugs fit the machine so well that they seem made for it. The black mugs match the color of the machine, too. Sturdy and generously sized, these mugs are perfect when you want to indulge in your favorite hot beverage.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as stated, June 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I finally thought that I had finally found a true 18oz mug/cup. I have searched hi and low
and bought many stated mugs/cups but none have been
18 oz. No one that makes glasses, mugs,or cups EVER
give the correct volume that they really hold. Why is
this? This mug holds exactly 16 oz with a usable
amount of 14 oz. I order 18oz volume so I can get
a true 16oz usable mug/cup to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super soup mug!, October 10, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love Fiestaware, and I enjoy the cobalt more than any other color. These Jumbo Cups are lovely and match the rest of my cobalt Fiestaware completely. They are large enough to hold a great amount of tea. My only disappointment is that they come just shy of holding an entire standard can of soup. If you do not remove about four tablespoons worth of soup before cooking in the microwave, the soup will spill. If the cups had been just a little larger, I wouldn't have to worry about wasting soup. Otherwise, they are fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars great mug, November 4, 2010

I got several of these in different colors and love them. The colors are brilliant and beautiful and the mug holds just the right amount of latte or cafe au lait for this coffee junkie! Plus they don't get hot in the microwave when I rewarm my drink. A major plus - I hate decorative mugs that get scalding hot in the micro. The only "negative" is that they are really heavy (I weighed them - they weigh approx 1.33 lbs each!). So they really aren't for small kids or those with strength issues in their hands. Other than that, they are fab and I would buy them again.
