Tiny Butter Dish,

Purchased this for Christmas and the first thing I noticed was how tiny it was. A stick of butter barely fits inside the cover!! Butter gets all over the sides of the cover because it just isn't well proportioned for a regular stick of butter.I also noticed the color is not even or consistent - I purchased cinnabar and it really didin't have an even coverage of that color. Perhaps the other colors fare better? Overall, I was very disappointed in this purchase, especially as I thought it was a bit overpriced.

Purchased this in black for a friend who has Fiestaware in black and white and have bought myself one even though I never thought I would buy a covered butter dish. And I use it more than I ever imagined. I like the style because its clean and doesn't have the "cute" silliness of most covered butter dishes.I guess that is what I like about Fiestaware anyway. It is so clean and neat as well as utterly gorgeous in colour as well as such a pleasure to handle. And my friends place looks so wonderful when he sets the table in the black and white Fiestaware, mixing plates, bowls, serving pieces.

Fiestaware Butter Dish Is A Style Everyone Appreciates!,

I liked the Fiestaware Clock a lot but the butter dish is fantastic! It holds the cold from the refrigerator when the butter is on the table so no melting, spoiled butter. If the butter is too hard, a few seconds in the microwave softens it up! Attractive in all of these colors, the hardest problem was choosing which color. Fiestaware pieces don't have to be all the same color. That's why it is a Fiesta to use. Clean up in the dishwasher is just one more good thing about it. Maybe it's because I am getting older but I enjoy all these fun things in the kitchen and dining room. How about everyone else?

Pretty - but small,

Love the matching sugar bowl that comes with this butter dish, and the butter dish is very pretty, however it is too small!! or short rather.. you put a standard cube of butter in the dish and it squeezes the top of the butter and gets stuck. The lid does not touch the bottom of the dish until you have used most of the butter. Also it has to reach room temperature, so it becomes molded to the shape of the lid better, which in turn makes a mess. Really, very unusual and it drives me nuts. I do not recomend the butter dish, sadly.

Great butter dish!,

First of all, to those fellow purple lovers out there, this is a gorgeous shade of purple! It's the deep blue/red purple, not that new brownish raisin type that is prevalent. That said, this is a wonderful little butter dish. I've had mine for quite some time now and it's taken quite a beating from a toddler and still looks new. The knob on top makes it especially nice and easy to use. The bottom is large and rounded so that the butter doesn't fall off, but it's still small enough to fit in the butter compartment of your fridge. This is a great product and very pleasing to view as well. I mix mine with my Longaberger dishes too and it fits in beautifully. It washes up quite fine in the dishwasher as well (I use the top rack).

This review is from: Fiesta 2-Piece Covered Butter, Cobalt (Kitchen)
I bought the fiestaware cobalt butter dish while living in Arizona. The butter sold there is packaged in shorter, wider, and higher sized sticks. So, it didn't fit into the butter dish unless I trimmed it!! Couldn't figure it out, why would they make a butter dish that a stick of butter won't fit into??!! So....have just moved to the Houston area, and guess what, the butter here is sized just right for the dish. Maybe they need to make two different sizes for west and east coast butter?? Crazy! Nice butter dish, though.

I searched for years trying to find a nice, plain white butter dish. This one is perfect -- it blends in well with all my other dishes. It is study, attractive, and holds a stick of butter. What more could you ask of a butter dish?

This review is from: Fiesta 2-Piece Covered Butter, Shamrock (Kitchen)
I ordered the Fiesta butter dish in Shamrock -- very pretty color. I really like Fiesta dishes, but the butter dish top just doesn't accommodate a standard 4 ounce block of butter. There is plenty of room on the base of the dish but the top just dangled on top of the butter. It's too narrow and short. Too bad -- I would have loved to have kept this butter dish had it worked! Fortunately, the return was easy and I received a credit right away.
