2.0 out of 5 stars Not quite what I was wanting...
I was looking for a collection of classic Mexican songs. There's a lot of talking on this CD that I wasn't expecting.

5.0 out of 5 stars An educational as well as enjoyable collection, April 22, 2010
Fiesta Mexicana: Mexican Songs & Stories for Ninos & Ninas and their Papas & Mamas lives up to its subtitle with a two-disc, English-Spanish bilingual album - one disc in English and one offering the same songs in Spanish. Both discs offer brief educational narratives in between the songs. An educational as well as enjoyable collection, Fiesta Mexicana strives to instruct young listeners about tempo in music, the value of balance, and more positive social lessons as well as an introduction to Mexican heritage and the Spanish language. A delightful music collection that will have parents and listeners of all ages tapping their feet to the beat, Fiesta Mexicana is a joy to experience and enthusiastically recommended for public library children's collections, gift-giving, and even children's parties! The songs (not counting the many narratives) are "Saludo Jarabeado" (1:08), "La Pasion" (1:15), "Xipe" (3:28), "Torito Coiteco" (3:35), "La Acamaya" (3:16), "Los Enanos" (2:44), "El Raton Vaquero" (2:58), "El Trenecito" (2:36), "Tixtla" (6:57), "La Bamba (rock 'n' roll)" (1:34), and "La Bamba (son jarocho)" (4:57).
