VERY ENJOYABLE,

This review is from: Fifth Avenue Band (Audio CD)
This is pretty straight forward pop-rock from 1969. It almost has a mid-70s feel, no psychdelia or counter-culture florishes.
"One Way or The Other" is a melodic, mid tempo piece with a very slight latin tinge. There are ballads, like "Good Lady of Toronto" and "Faithfull to be faior." and straight rock, like "Fast Freight" There is also "Nice Folks," a great jazz piece. If anything, you could compare this to Randy Newman, or maybe Chicago sans the horns. Yet I only hear vauge hints of this. This is nothing out of the ordinary, but that is part of its charm. It is also the point: rock was so polorized in 1969 (Classics IV, MC5) people forgot that good music knows no AM or FM, no freaks or straights. The writting and playing are excellent on this record, and these alone are enough to carry the album off. Definately worth getting if you can find it.
