More About the Author

I'm the author of 16 published novels: 11 horror, 2 romantic thrillers, 2 mystery novels that are part of a continuing series and a text on creative writing. In the past I've worked as an investigative reporter on a newspaper and had my own column. I've also worked as a licensed teacher in Adult Ed classes in high schools, libraries and on AOL, teaching creative writing and journalism. However, out of all of this my favorite activities are meeting people at book signings, conventions, answering questions, listening to their opinions on novels. Most people are great and a joy to meet.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fifth Deadly Sin, September 3, 2007
This review is from: The Fifth Deadly Sin (Hardcover)
A winner! That little touch of horror added to a complex mystery makes for an exciting and tension-filled read. When you pick this book up, make sure you have locked all your doors and the lights are on. You'll need that extra feeling of security when the building creaks unexpectedly and you might even hear hollow footsteps on the stairs. Detective Bobby Beckett and her partner Dan Goodson become involved in another series of unpleasant murders that hint of a possible serial killer, even though one of the victims is a man. Their problems are multiplied when they find differences in each murder and no apparent motive. Journalist August Summers rides with the two detectives as they follow up leads. While they are busy doing their job, August makes use of the time to search for evidence on her own. An attempt to kill them nearly disrupts the investigation. Is it related? The cast of characters will keep you guessing at what will happen next. Edge-of-the-seat reading. Highly recommended to keep your attention to the end. You'll be looking for the next book in this series by very talented Dana Reed. Enjoy. I certainly did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Frightening Thrill Ride!, April 27, 2005
This review is from: The Fifth Deadly Sin (Hardcover)
I have been a Dana Reed fan for years and have read just about every novel this author has ever written. One thing is for sure, the author still has it! The Fifth Deadly Sin was just as good as the first Bobby Beckett/August Summers novel, Unholy Alliance. The characters are memorable and likable, and the story itself is edge of your seat suspense. No spoilers from me. Though I will tell you that, like usual with Reeds novels, I had to read this with the lights on. Read the first one, too. Unholy Alliance. Then read this one. They'll stand alone and are great that way - but both novels are fabulous and I know you won't want to miss either one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Police Action Thriller, April 27, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Fifth Deadly Sin (Hardcover)
Ms. Reed has done the seemingly impossible job of following her UNHOLY ALLIANCE with an even more tense and exciting novel whose plot twists and double peril keep the reader glued to the pages until the final sentence. She has grown and developed her characters and their relationships in a most satisfying manner. The quality of the writing is excellent.

I look forward to seeing more of this series and certainly a lot more of Ms. Reed's work whether in the series or beyond it.
