This book was originally printed before or around 1950. Some of Vera's books were printed in the 30's. It is an amazing book under the New Age catagory that one would expect to find newly printed (due to the content). In this book, the author has drawn on a number of sources to draw conclusions of the future. When I first read this book I was fascinated and now I see these things have either come true or are on their way. She even speaks of a New World Order, and walls that give off light at night that they stored up during the day (Maybe solar power?). She also discusses an energy source that will be free and fully available. (cold fusion?) All in all it is a timelessly fascinating book. Cindy Ratcliff

In this book, the author takes us through the meanings of the various dimensions. She explains the First Dimension as a line, the Second Dimension as a square, polygon, etc, the Third Dimension as objects and materialism, the Fourth Dimension as radiations flowing in all directions and interacting with one another. Also included in this dimension are the radiations of Wisdom and Love. Finally in the Fifth Dimension she explains to be the opposite of the Fourth Dimension, where instead of radiations flowing in every direction we have inter-penetration, where worlds can dwell one within the other. The Fifth Dimension is to be ruled by the use of mind-power.

She explains that each dimension to be of higher level of vibration and how the Earth is slowly raising its level of vibration and transmuting itself to attain oneness with God. Back in 1940, she prophesies the future of Man's evolution - the future of government into a world government & the union of various religions, the future of health-care and the future of education. She also explains how science through the development of free electricity will free the world and through etheric photography will stimulate the mind into higher activity.

All these activities predicted here will be the dawning of `The Golden Age'.

This is the second book that I have now read by Vera Stanley Alder. The other book that I read and have also written a review for was `The finding of the third eye'. I purchased `The fifth dimension' and `The finding of the third eye' due to the positive reviews and the strong titles of these two books; on the whole, big mistake. As was the case with the book `The finding of the third eye', there was also little information that related to the title of the book when it came to the fifth dimension.

I did like the fact the Vera talked about the stages required for classical meditation i.e. concentration, meditation, contemplation & adoration. A brief explanation of each of these stages is given.

I can't help but think once again, that due to the esoteric information gained from reading from the likes of H.P.Blavatsky, Alice Bailey and Gerald Massey etc, the present author in question has written from second hand spiritual knowledge. Further, think of all the positive aspects that you would want in perfect future world for our planet; yep this is what you'll get according to Vera. Do I believe that this world will come about? No, I couldn't help but find too many holes while reading this book. As far as I can see things, this world is becoming more engrossed in materialism and has not come anywhere near the 4th dimension, let alone the fifth.

Sure there are some interesting tidbits, but I wish I had not spent the time and money on both of these two books. I had to speed read this book to justify the money spent & abate that voice inside my head saying "you're wasting your time again". If you're into the new age thing, you'll probably get more out of this book than I did. Once again, I'd prefer information that is going to help me on my spiritual quest in concrete ways, information from those who have real spiritual experiences and insights, verses second hand knowledge. I obviously don't recommend this book, just look at what the other reviewers have to say about this book and you'll get a decent summary; all of which you'll probably forget in a week's time anyways.
