I have added my own personal images, as did one other Amazon reviewer, that shows the case the Fifth Element disc comes with the True DolbyHD label on it. This is one of two ways you can be sure you have the remastered edition (the other is more subtle: the foil on the front is silver in the remastered edition, gray in the original).

Buy with confidence, the sale on this set won't last forever.

This was a review on the 2-pack bluray set, not the movies. I gave it 5-stars because of the value of this Blu-ray pack (at time of purchase it was less than $13 shipped).

The Fifth Element is the REMASTERED version and GATTACA the SPECIAL EDITION version.
A very good purchase [..] if you like either of these a movies.
A great purchase if you like them both, like me.
I'm not really a blu-ray snob, but from what I understand both versions are excellent transfers.
All I know is they both look and sound better on my home theater than I remember them in theaters.

The Fifth Element:

One of my favourite movies of all time. I'm generally not one of those people who can quote lines willy nilly from movies, lines just don't seem to stick in my head, but I've watched this movie so many times that I think I could probably recite it line by line. I don't know what it is, but this movie just seems to have all the elements that I crave in a movie (another win in my books from one of my favourite directors, Luc Besson). It's full of action, it's got the great one-liners that I miss from the action kings of the 80's, it's got great music, and it's science fiction.

The story isn't exactly Shakespear but it doesn't seem to need it for some reason. Of the two movies in this pack however, the video quality of The Fifth Element was a bit of a let down for me. Blu Ray just doesn't seem to have done this movie Justice. I was also dissapointed in the lack of special features.

GATTACA:

What can one say about a movie like GATTACA. Relevent when it was released, still extremely relevant now. Visual effects are by no means a strength of this movie yet you still get the impression that this movie is set in the not too distant future and not the now. I can only put this down to extremely creative production, set design, and costuming.

Each of the characters is intriguing in their own right and the performances by the all star cast including Jude Law (in one of his first Hollywood movies), Ethan Hawke, and Uma Thurman are outstanding.

Lots of excellent bonus content and the upgrade to full HD has really made this movie shine in a new light.

Overall, a great purchase that I am very happy with.

Gattaca is a low budget but HIGH quality movie.
Cerebral, intelligent and deep...

This as a combo is a MUST have!

I love both of these movies for various reasons. All I can say is the most stunning of the two, is The Fifth Element. Not only will this be considered a classic in the Sci-fi genre one day, but the Blu-Ray remastered version is so stunning in it's visuals and sound quality, you will be giving the older DVD version away to someone you don't like.

The Fifth Element is one of the classic action/sci-fi movies you have to have if you like futuristic- crazy action driven fun. The movie in Blu-ray has the highest level of quality you can get, these are the updated/remastered versions, though the filming quality at the time was not as great as it is today. Because of this, don't expect the visual clarity and perfection of movies like Avatar, as it was done in 1997. Overall Gattaca and The Fifth Element are great to have in a collection.

Only for fifth element this movie worth every penny .Turn on Fact trivia while watching movie and almost every scene tell you something about movie ,actor ,sets,story..etc .After viewing it i wish all movie can add this feature .Blu ray conversion and Audio mix is top notch .People been talking about bad quality of disc and audio .probably its fixed because it knocked socks out of my sound system and graphics conversion looked awesome on my samsung LED.Easily one of top 5 conversion in my collection so far.
Gattaca is something different .If your genera is cult classic with likes of donnie darko but not much of inception .You`ll love it there aren`t any special effects .Movie is slow but they added murder mystery to keep it interesting.Its not typical Hollywood cloning movie like sixth day( by Arnold).I didn`t appreciate much of blu ray conversion or audio upgrade in this one but again it was a combo price .

If you've read the title of my review, you've already read my review. Buy these movies because they are awesome and have an awesome price.

These 2 movies are some of my favorite of all time. The 5th element, I have probably watched over 100 times since it came out. I can never get enough of it. I first saw Gattaca in my high school science class, and ever since I have always loved it. If you have never seen these movies, give them a chance.
