50 Professional Scenes for Student Actors,
By Grant James (Dallas, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fifty Professional Scenes for Student Actors: A Collection of Short Two-Person Scenes (Paperback)
As a Drama Teacher, I'm always on the lookout for new scene material. An Actor/Teacher friend recommended this book, so I sent for it. The scenes are short and have at least a few levels in each - enough to spend valuable class time on. Good stuff.

This book is terrific for my high school acting students. The scenes are great for teaching characterization, objectics, tactics, etc. I have used this book for more involved scene study assignments, but also as a quick one-day assignment as well.

This book was a little beyond what my middle schoolers could grasp, but I think it would definitely work in a high school drama class.

Our parochial school used several of the plays in this book for a forensics competition (The Body, The Exchange, and The Speech). They are humorous, and within the 4-7 minute limit. Highly recommend.
