Book Description

All right, Guys. It's time to man up!

Your woman's been ignoring you for weeks, locking herself in the bathroom, where you hear her moaning and you know she's reading that Fifty Shades book. And you're getting pretty sick of it.

Well, it's time to put an end to that. So here you go. an action plan:

Drag her into the kitchen, rip her clothes off, and order her to cook your favorite meal. And while she's doing it, let her know what a dope she is, by reading to her from the pages of this book that you're holding.

And then, when you're done, have your meal, tie her to the sink for safekeeping, and go out bowling with the boys. Enough is enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars 50 shades of ha ha ha May 26, 2012

Well, this 99 cents was worth it, about 99 belly laughs at a penny apiece. I am now satisfied that i have caught up to today's cultural phenomenon without having to read the original...but may enjoy thinking women are stupid for reading the original 50 Shades, but I'll bet the boyfriends/husbands of the female readers are getting their ends wet in new and exciting ways. Or same boyfriends/husbands are being cuckolded to satisfy the aroused readers. Do none of them see it as satire?

However stupid the surrounding text may be, it points out the fact that women nevertheless get turned on with the image of an improbably big slammer being thrust into them by one incredibly rich nice-smelling man, and are happy to shell out that money to get aroused enough to be juicy for their unimaginative hard working, non billionaire, non-nice smelling husbands/boyfriends. It isn't text for the mind, it's text for the lazy hormones of women who are so busy with life's mundane details they forgot how to lust and are getting permission again. It certainly isn't any stupider than men's porn, which is beneath parody...Good for E.L. James to jump the hoops to get it into "respectable" best seller mode so women can buy and read 50 Shades in the interest of "keeping up with literature." And good for Destroyer Books and D.M. for telling how stupid pornography can be and perhaps that the stupidity of it is what makes it so refreshing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Turns Skewering Fifty Shades Into An Artform September 14, 2012

If you've read my review for A Million Shades Of Green: The Real Story Behind Fifty Shades Of Grey then you already know that that essay was actually written by an action-thriller author, Sean Black. The funny thing is this essay/review is written by another author who usually writes "A Man's Man" type of stories, for you see "Poupon Grey" is actually a pseudonym (chosen exclusively to skewer Fifty Shades Of Grey with) being used by one Warren Murphy. If you have no clue who he is Warren Murphy is the co-author and creator of the long running Destroyer book series, and its rough and rugged central hero Remo Williams. (And that would be the Remo Williams in the books and not the sad adaptation that made it to the screen.)

To say that I immensely enjoyed this little piece would be an understatement. Grey/Murphy takes trashing Leonard and her book and makes it into an art form. The only thing I can say that I hated about it was that it was too short, and I can only but hope that someday Murphy will be brave enough to trudge through Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed and then resurrect Poupon Grey twice more to give them what they deserve.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny analysis of text December 5, 2012

I hate fifty shades of grey and enjoy literature which mocks it. To that end, I have bought a few books in the this genre to read and enjoy. This book, while sufficiently critical of the original text was a little less thought out than I would have liked. I recommend Lighter Shades of Grey by Cassandra Parkin or the recaps of Jennifer Armintrout online over this. Honestly, if you want to read things bashing this Fifty Shades of Grey, there are better, wittier analyses out there.

Not a bad review of the book. It is much of what I would have said myself after reading the book under review.
