I'm still waiting for the audio version. It's a great book. I just want someone to read it to me. Like Chef Excellence or Christopher Walken.-

Simply phenomenal. Truly one-thousand times better than Fifty Shades of Grey! You must buy it. Now. You won't be disappointed.

What can I say? From the well-known Internet reviewer Dr Ashen comes this fantastic reference. I can honestly say I learned fifty thousand times more from this book than I did in any of the literature courses I took in college (granted, in America at least that's not saying much). While other authors faff about with complex treatises and incomprehensible language (merely to appear knowledgeable), Dr Ashen lays down his discourse in simple, easy to read phrasing. It's both enjoyable and informative to read through this book cover to cover, and it's one of the few books I've ever reached the end of and then started reading over again immediately!

I do have a few issues to note. While Ashen's simple, unfettered style makes the material accessible, I do wish he had gone into more depth in certain places. Mainly, though, I just wanted more! Once you've read Ashen's reference, you realize there's an opening in the market for an even larger, more encompassing tome on the subject. However, you'll also realize, if you're like me, that the only person who can fill that opening is Dr Ashen. I expect the sequel, 'Fifty Million Shades of Grey', will address the very few, nitpicky shortcomings I could muster.

Well done, Dr Ashen, and keep up the good work!

P.S. I'm waiting for the Kindle version. I might actually buy a Kindle just so I can carry this book with me on the go, and in preparation for the sequel, which will likely be prohibitively voluminous and heavy in dead tree form.

It was a decent read. I felt that it was a little too repetitive. I can't really put my finger on it but everything felt recycled.

I feel that this has been a great aid in my spelling of British English while at the same time being far more entertaining than a certain Twilight fan fic with a similar title.

Mr. Ashen, who has long stood astride the post-modern-brown-couch genre like a mighty colossus, is in a class of his own. This powerhouse of a freshman work will leave your fragile psyche in tatters and your body curled in the fetal position as you struggle to come to grips with its SHEER AWESOME.

It changed my life. I now know that it's okay to read, or even say, fifty thousand shades of grey. Or even... Gray.

This is one of the most amazing novels I have ever read. The compassion, the thrill and excitement that is expressed out to the reader. It burrows deep into our minds and extraordinarily embraces and emphasizes those 3 remarkable words, "Shades of grey".
