Mortification of Sin, July 31, 2007
This review is from: A Fight to the Death: Taking Aim at Sin Within (Strength for Life) (Paperback)
Easy reading. Short chapters. Questions at the end of each chapter. This book is aimed at small groups, Sunday school classes, and other groups of folks who profess to be Christian. It is written for sheep, not shepherds. As such, it is better than most offerings in this genre. Neither sheep nor goats will be offended, and barely challenged, by this gentle chiding. It is ideally suited for discussion groups.
Shepherds and serious students wanting to learn about mortification of sin should refer to John Owen's classic work.
Having first read Mr. Mack's book "Life In The Father's House", I was disappointed by this offering. This is Christianity Light. It goes on the shelf with the other books read once and never to be referred to agoin. To appreciate this author, get the other book.
