Fight Dirty,
This review is from: Fight Dirty/Good Morning America (Audio CD)
Fight Dirty is good - especially as I now have two copies.
I cannot comment on Good Morning America as I never received it despite complaining to Amazon twice and eventually they (Amazon) telling me they were not going to fulfill the order. Yet they still continue to advertise this product as a double/2 CD package. Word of warning to anyone considering purchasing this item - it is not what it is advertised as. Shame on you, Amazon.

Buyer beware!
If RHINO CD sonics are the best -here is the worst: RENAISSANCE. The techs (if there are any) at this particular label are clueless. Evidently there's no one on staff that has any idea how vitally important it is to offer some semblence of professional grade remastering when releasing their product. This company has screwed up more releases than any other I'm aware of. Tragically they have trashed all four of the Charlie releases, with the worst being Fight Dirty and Lines. The sonic problems here run the gamut. Some are distorted, others low level. They sound dull, muddy, hollow, you name it. The CHARLIE albums deserve far better than the abysmal treatment they get here. If you've got relatively clean vinyl copies of these at home, you could do far better on your own with some Cool Edit transfer to CD. Now comes the latest Renaissance disaster: They just trashed the long awaited release of Hamilton, Joe Frank,& Reynolds' "Fallin' in Love" (The Playboy Years). Half of that particular project was (accidently?) dubbed at a slow speed! And has LP snaps and crackles on it. C'mon guys! Get it right or get out of the business. Best advice: If it says Renaissance on the label, take a pass!

Killer Cut is a Killer Cut,

This is a pretty good album, but even if it wasn't I would have bought it just to get the first track, Killer Cut. Killer Cut was one of my all time favorites twenty-five years ago.
It reminds me of Dire Straits', "Money for Nothin'". Not the music, it couldn't be more different, but the subject/storyline, which, in this case, deals with how success can be achieved by writing and recording one Killer Cut. I can't help but wonder if five years later Dire Straits. took this line of reasoning one step further by including the newly popular MTV. We'll never know but both songs are great in fact I was fixated on "Money for Nothin'", for a while as well. "KILLER CUT" is a highly rhythmic, highly melodic song featuring multiple harmonies reminiscent of early Boston. It's long as radio friendly songs go, about 5 minutes.

This CD really contains two albums, Fight Dirty and Good Morning America. With these two albums Charlie clearly establishes them has a true creative force. While it never received commercial success, this album will impress even the toughest fan.

I had the LP Charlie Lines and liked it so much that I decided to purchase their other music. I like it, definitly the epitomy of 70's to 80's music transition.

Charlie is one of those little bands that came from the clubs in the 70's like Billy Vera, same style as Billy and some like Boz Scaggs.
