Having purchased Emily Osment's 1st EP CD, I absolutely could not wait for "Fight or Flight" to come out; and I was not disappointed. (I actually got to listen to it on an 'exclusive' website, but pre-ordered from Amazon also)
Of all the songs, there are only about 2 that are so-so for me. The remainder of the songs are up-beat fun FANTASTIC songs. Lovesick Great song, very upbeat and fun. One of the singles. Very catchy Get Yer Yah-Yah's Out It took me a little while to like this song; it does grow on you and now I really like it. 1-800 Clap Your Hands (The Water is Rising) Again, Great song, very upbeat and fun with a nice message. Marisol This is a little slower and definetely tries to show Emily's vocal range. The Cycle LOVE this one also. I feel this one has a great message behind it about life but is fun enough that you can also throwback be careful and enjoy it. All The Boys Want Fun dance song.. Double Talk Fun song again. Truth or Dare A little bit 'darker' than the rest of the CD in terms of mood, but still fantastic. Let's Be Friends This one is my favorite! The main line is "Lets be friends, so we can make out" so.. parents should be cautious. If your kid is old enough to get the joke and not take it seriously, its good. The other single. Reminds me a little bit of "too cool for you" from camp rock. You Get Me Through Slower song. More ballady.. this one is so-so for me, but thats just because I like fast upbeat songs. Gotta Believe in Something This one has a great message, especially for the current economy/times and upcoming generation. Upbeat song. Basically, a fantastic CD in my opinion! If you like dance music.. or something that will get you moving.. something to just sing along and be care-free.. this is your CD. :)

Emily takes "Flight" with this album,

I listened to Emily's EP "All The Right Wrongs" and I didn't find it very impressive. It was just not very interesting, and her voice was just okay at best. Now with her new album "Fight or Flight" Emily has a style that suits her voice and personality. The songs on this album are easily fun and some are meaningful in a sort of melancholy way. She sounds more in control of her voice in this album compared to "All The Right Wrongs" which was kind of all over the place.
The songs on here are completely Pop/Electronic, similar to Selena Gomez's latest album but more sexual I guess. In a way Emily is following the same path as her friend Miley Cyrus but since Emily isn't as popular or interesting she probably will be less successful. Compared to Miley's latest CD, Emily's is different sounding though. But not completely, they both sing about the same subject matter. My favorite songs are "Double Talk", "Lovesick", "Gotta Believe In Something", and "1-800 Clap Your Hands". Those songs are more substantial lyrically than say her single "Let's Be Friends" and "All The Boys Want". Every single song on this album has a good dance beat and is processed somewhat heavily, making it a slick album. While Emily's voice has personality, it does need help from the computer. Throughout the whole album there is a multitude of effects use to boost her vocals. So if you were looking for raw vocals like songs on her previous EP, then don't pick up this album. Overall, I enjoyed this album. It seems grown up and sexy, but it isn't outrageous. All these Disney Stars never seem to really get as edgy as they say they will be, so I wasn't surprised. This music is all catchy fun stuff to dance to, with two ballads thrown in for good measure. I commend Emily for finding her sound and helping in the writing process. This album really stands up on its own very well.

This cd is the best one yet I love it better than her first one. This one just has more energy and dancing to it and I like that. My fave songs are 1-800 Clap Your Hands (The Water is Rising), Marisol, The Cycle, You Get Me Through, and Gotta Believe In Something. You should go out and buy this album it is definitely worth it. I think everyone will enjoy the energy you get when you listen to it.

dance music done RIGHT!!!,
This review is from: Fight Or Flight [+Digital Booklet] (MP3 Download)
I LOVE IT! let me start by shamefully admitting that I'm 30 years old and I'm a big fan of the Disney channel stars. I'm black and I LOVE dance and pop and rock music. I do not own Emily's last cd but this current one made me a big fan of her.music. Naturally I know her from Hannah Montana. But I had no idea she could sing!! I listened to bits of her last album and I didn't care for it much because her voice was not as mature as it is now. This cd is full of feel good music and catchy lyrics that she wrote! I also viewed a performance of hers on You tube and I was so impressed. It's from her current album. I'm so surprised that she doesn't get as much credit musically as miley does! I love the Hannah soundtracks but I don't like miley's cds. I will support Emily from now on! And yes the girls are in two different categories and maybe the shouldn't be compared. But I'm sayin that people are sleepin on miss Emily! Wake up folks...and DANCE!

This Is What Selena Gomez Wanted...,
This review is from: Fight Or Flight (Audio CD)
I personally LOVED Emilys EP All The Right Wrongs, it was nice fun and it was something feresh, now while Fight Or Flight may not be fresh, it sure as heck is fun. Emily works it out here, she has fun and doesnt apologize for it. This is the kind of album that Selena Gomez thought she had made.
Best: get yer yah yahs out marisol the cycle truth or dare lets be friends gotta believe in something Okay: 1 800 clap your hands the waters rising all the boys want double talk eh: lovesick Boring: you get me through as u can see only ONE BAD SONG and its not even bad, it just doesnt jive with the flow of the album, I love this album!!

I figured they were related because she looks like him a bit (and they share the same last name). But anyway, onto the music. The first track is a very catchy, auto-tuned party that should get any tween dancing. The next track almost sounds like Kesha, which I don't like as much. At least the dance-y vibe of the bridge is nice. 'Marisol' has the singer looking through another girl's eyes, who has to figure things out and find her way in life. Track 5 has Emily stretching her voice to the limit. *The Best Track* 1-800 Clap Your Hands (The Water Is Rising) - This track sounds amazing. It's a solid 4-star rating. I love the dreamy, dance-y production. *The Good Tracks* Lovesick Marisol All The Boys Want - a foot-stomping dance track about boys and girls liking each other. It's very G-rated so nothing to worry about, parents. Truth Or Dare - another fun, yet dance-y song. The background words are pretty cool. "Talk, talk. Dare!" You Get Me Through - the first track to not be very dance-y. It feels very serious, has vocal harmonies towards the end, and is different from the other tracks. *Doesn't Hurt Or Help* Get Your Yah Yah's Out The Cycle Double Talk Let's Be Friends - this track is about making out. Just a heads up. Gotta Believe In Something *The Filler* I guess nothing. I didn't rate this album on the merits of other releases I usually listen to. Then, it would have been a bit lower I guess. I just rated it in the Disney category and fans of people like Miley or Aly & AJ should like this. Be warned though: If you know NOTHING about this album, know now that just about every track has a dance beat whether fast or slow. Normally, I wouldn't give this CD a chance, but it was a choice at AOL's listening party so I figured, "Why not?". All in all, it wasn't bad. It's just not anything I'd want to have personally. But I'm sure fans of Disney songs will dig this. *Warning parents*: There is one song about making out titled 'Let's Be Friends'. 3.5 stars or a 7/10. DOWNLOAD: '1-800 Clap Your Hands' & 'Lovesick'

Despite how we came to know Emily Osment, I'm delighted to say that I enjoyed it.
1. Lovesick 4/5 Fun Dance Track, lyrics aren't to interesting but it is a fun song. 2. Get Yer Yah-Yah's 3/5 Out Another fun track, catchy. 3. 1-800 Clap Your Hands (The Water is Rising) 4/5 This song is simple but I love the pace of it. 4. Marisol 5/5 If you were looking for soul it is found in this song. 5. The Cycle 4/5 A quick, fun, rock type song. 6. All the Boys Want 3/5 Another fun dance track, these are all fun but there all dance tracks. 7. Double Talk 5/5 I really enjoyed this song, it's fun and dancey but again the beat was catchy. 8. Truth or Dare 3/5 Another fun dance track, high energy. 9. Let's Be Friends 3/5 Her first single, dance and catchy. 10. You Get Me Through 5/5 I loved this song. She may be 18 but just about anyone can relate to the feeling in this song. 11. Gotta Believe in Something 3/5 Another fun song. I enjoyed it, just not as much as some of the others. Emily Osment is 18 and her music says it, but there are some glimmers of wonderful here. I'm very excited for her future in music.

I absolutely love Emily Osment's music. This CD is wonderful! Even if the case was a bit cracked, for a price that's cheaper than iTunes it can't be beat! Better yet you get the disk and booklet.
