5.0 out of 5 stars Fight - War Of Words The Film DVD Review
War Of Words The Film starts with a documentary about the band. Interviews with Rob Halford are the centerpiece, and he explains how he formed the band with guitarists Brian Tilse and Russ Parrish, bassist Jay Jay and drummer Scott Travis. There is also footage of various Fight rehearsals and the band in the recording studio.

There's also a full-length concert...

1.0 out of 5 stars Fight - War of Words the Movie. Major Let Down
The book "Editing For Dummies" would have been very helpful to the people involved with the editing of this dvd. The music was off cue with the video so many times I actually lost count. If you want to keep a travesty like this from occurring again someone please send them the book. Maybe if Winger needs some editors for their dvd...
The concert was done in a montage...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fight - War Of Words The Film DVD Review, December 17, 2007
This review is from: Fight: War of Words - The Film (DVD)
War Of Words The Film starts with a documentary about the band. Interviews with Rob Halford are the centerpiece, and he explains how he formed the band with guitarists Brian Tilse and Russ Parrish, bassist Jay Jay and drummer Scott Travis. There is also footage of various Fight rehearsals and the band in the recording studio.

There's also a full-length concert of 12 songs that were shot in various cities throughout Fight's 1993-1994 tour. There were songs filmed in Portland, Paris, Denver, Munich and more. Because of that, each song has a little different feel and there's a different look and vibe. Still, it flows together well and the audio and video quality are good.

The bonus material on the DVD includes music videos for three Fight songs along with a live performance at Sony Music Studios in New York and a trailer for Halford Live At Rock In Rio III. They only released a couple of albums, but Fight were an excellent band, and this DVD captures them well, both on and off stage.

The concert was done in a montage where they use excerpts from several different shows to compile what is supposed to be a complete concert. Then it is set to the audio, that is supposed to be untouched/altered (Yeah, Right), to the make shift concert. IT'S LIKE A BAD POISON VIDEO! So your are basically watching them lip sync. Anybody remember Milli Vanilli? Who knows where the audio was actually sourced. If you are a diehard Fight Fan then you will be disappointed, you should avoid this like the plague, and seek any of the bootleg shows that are readily available.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have to every FIGHT fan !!, December 19, 2007
This review is from: Fight: War of Words - The Film (DVD)
This DVD is definitely a MUST have for every FIGHT or Halford's fan !! This DVD contains a lot of what FIGHT has released, be it a very interesting documentary about the band, the concert part from lots of different places, the clips from the WOW album : Nailed to the gun, Immortal Sin & Little Crazy which look really great, and finally, 4 live piece from the MTV Headbanger's ball which are stunning too !!

As far as the show is concerned, it has been stated that the video is from lots of dates from Tokyo, Seattle, Phoenix, Paris etc, but it all looks really well and powerful ! I really can't understand how this great DVD could be seen as a disappointment for a Fight fan... As I said , it's a must have !!

Fight is definitely an underrated band... If you don't know them yet, I think this is a really good introduction ! You won't regret !!

BTW, I advise you to get the DVD edition which contain as a bonus the remastered and remixed version of WAR OF WORDS, the first Fight release which is truely a masterpiece...

Not writing a book about this lets just say it was great. Starts off with cool footage of them recording. Lots of old stuff I thought was interesting but most of all I am into this kind of music so if you like Halford, Preist or Fight get it.
