A standard work for reference to the North African campaign in the air.,

This review is from: Fighters over the Desert: The Air Battles in the Western Desert, June 1940 to December 1942 (Hardcover)
Christopher Shores and Hans Ring created one of my favorite books contributing to the history of the war in North Africa during World War Two. Quite simply, if it's not in here, it probably didn't happen. Operations from every day of the conflict in the air between the Allies and the Axis (up to the end of 1942) are presented here in lucid detail. The photographs included in this book are rare and not usually seen in other books dealing with the North African air campaign. The authors underscored the true value of air power in this volume: that of reconnaissance and tactical support.
After buying this book, I understand why it's listed in almost every bibliography in books written about this campaign.

Like all of Shores's work, a masterpiece of research on air warfare and a must for anyone interested in WWII in the air in the Mediterranean
