This review is from: The Fightin' Preacher: His God Called Him to Preach... His Country Called Him to Fight (Paperback)
More men and boys need to read stories such as this one. Colonel Logan E. Weston was a man's man. The men in his commands were wholly devoted to him. He was no less reluctant to terminate the enemy than to speak boldly of his faith. In the Burma-India Theater of WW II, he was engaged in some of the most vicious fighting of the entire war while operating behind enemy lines with Merrill's Marauders. Later during the Battle of Pusan, Korea, he directed American mortar fire into advancing North Korean forces stabilizing the US lines while shot in the arm and chest. Before leaving the battlefield for personal medical attention, he worked his way down the battle line encouraging his men and organizing the evacuation of the wounded.

This is a true story of duty, honor, and sacrifice among men. It is a story of one man's faith in a God worthy of a warrior's allegiance. Colonel Logan served in three wars and was among the most highly decorated men in all of America's history. He was a true patriot.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fightin' Preacher, May 6, 2007
This review is from: The Fightin' Preacher: His God Called Him to Preach... His Country Called Him to Fight (Paperback)
Colonel Logan E. Weston, U.S. Army (Retired) is the veteran of three wars: World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. His unwavering devotion to his country and to his faith earned him a larger-than-life reputation and undying devotion from his men, even to tis day. Possibly the most heavily decorated soldier in American history, Col. Weston has received over 200 medals and awards, among them the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Stars, Bronze Stars, Purple Hearts, and the Legion of Merit.

"This is a story of Duty and Honor, Sacrifice and Accomplishment, of a great American Patriot. Colonel Weston survived three wars under unbelievable and adverse circumstances. His faith in God sustained him throughout those trying times and he has been an inspiration to his men and his many comrades, his many friends, and his family." - CPT Philip B. Piazza, USA President Merrill's Maraunders Assoc.
