Fighting Crime with "Some" Day and Lenny,

This review is from: Fighting Crime With "Some" Day and Lenny: Or What Happens When Dragnet Meets Car 54 Where Are You? (Paperback)
He folks, finished reading FIGHTING CRIME WITH "SOME" DAY AND LENNY and found it to be a very funny view of our men in blue. Detective Robert "Some" Day is a very serious and dedicated police officer of Staten Island Major Case Squad who handles ever case, no matter how large or small, with serious attention to detail while Detective Lenny Birnbaum, his stumbling partner, accompanies him through their many assignments, even one to Parump Nevada, which was one of my favorites. It is a humerous look into the daily lives of day to day police work and would make a great TV show or major movie. From this U.S. Navy veteran, I salute our men in Blue and recommend this book to any that would like a good laugh. Way to go Keith Bettinger.

You thought cops had no sense of humor?,
By Jack Miller (Las Vegas, NV) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fighting Crime With "Some" Day and Lenny: Or What Happens When Dragnet Meets Car 54 Where Are You? (Paperback)
I looked at the cover and had to have it. I am old enough to remember Dragnet and Car 54. I also was in law enforcement.
Keith Bettinger must have a sense of humor because he gave Sergeant "Some" Day and his partner Detective Lenny Birnbaum a wild sense of humor too. With his line from "real cops drink black coffee" to "Sergeants don't drive" you will be giggling to yourself and laughing at the antics of these two cops. If you ever had the thought that cop's don't have a sense of humor, read this. It is evidence sufficient to sway any jury.

A great beach book,

A great beach book: lightweight, quick reading, and lots of laughs. Keith Bettinger has put together a bunch of short stories poking fun at bungling cops, sort of a "Car 54 Where Are You" theme (if you're old enough to know what that means). From the hunt for a plastic pink flamingo stolen off a politician's lawn, to a cop bungee jumping off the Verrazano Bridge to catch a bad guy on the fly, Keith's stories will have you laughing out loud.
