Book Description

A very emotional, heart breaking book. This is the first of the three books of my life growing up half deaf with 8 brothers, six sisters and a single mother, going though a kidnapping, rape and left on side of road to die, a shootout that took 6 brothers and 5 sisters lives, including my baby brother, age 11 who died in my arms. And also this is written to help others deal and help with drug addiction, teenage alcoholism, revenge, deaths, and many things that I dealt with in my first 18 years of my life. I hope that it will help many overcome whatever they may be dealing with. It deals with hope, tragedies, wishes, joy, sadness, abuses, drugs, fighting, and death. It is my hopes that through this, people can see hope and get help because you are a survivor, not a victim.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST READ...BAD THINGS REALLY DO HAPPEN August 25, 2012
By Prin
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading Cari S. review I decided I had to read this book myself. Immediately purchased and spent the next couple of hours reading. Cari S. must have been a very blessed child not to know of the horrors other children lived. Also don't know how old she is but I lived through those years and it was A LOT DIFFERENT than it is now. If you were to told someone that these things happened they (like Cari) wouldn't listen. Children had no where to turn in those days. John and his family were extremely lucky to have a mother who supported them in all things. Please read this book and make up your own mind...after all what do you have to lose, it's free and everyone should make time every day to relax and read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poignant April 2, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a tale of a man's life in his first eighteen years. It is a story of life, death, and the closeness of siblings. The reader will experience sadness, but begin to understand that no matter how tragic life is, there is still faith.

2.0 out of 5 stars What a load of Rubbish September 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was so far-fetched it should have been catalogued as a comedy. If this author believes the stories he relates to be true I feel sorry for him. The time lines are so out of whack. I will not be looking to find out what happens in the next 18 years. Lucky it was free

1.0 out of 5 stars Delusional January 17, 2012

Not only does the author have a poor grasp of the English language, his story is extremely far-fetched ... maybe the result of too many years of drug abuse.
