In his first book aimed at the general public, Grandmaster In Hyuk Suh introduces traditioanl Korean weapons with histories and demonstrations. Also, included are parts of sword and staff forms as taught in Kuk Sool Won. This is a good reference for anyone interested in Korean martial arts weapons.

This book gives a nice overview of the history of the Korean weapon-based arts, and background and history of particular weapons. Interesting, but not enthralling.

Of course, it is NOT POSSIBLE to learn a fighting style from a book; you need an instructor and a gym. So, read this book for history. If you want to lean Korean weapons, go to classes, and use this book to supplement your classes.

This book does not excite the reader in any way. In addition, it does not provide insight into many of the Korean fighting styles. I noticed that no Hapkido (a Korean martial art) weapons were discussed at all. This is particularly disturbing, because Hapkido is rapidly gaining in popularity in the United States.
