not just pretty pictures,

This is a cornerstone of Joachim scholarship. Joachim's figurae are essential to understanding his theology of history, his scritural hermeneutics and his trinitarian theology. This is THE work on those subjects and it is a shame that is is no longer in print. Marjory Reeves was one of if not the great scholar of Joachim of fiore and her passing is morned by all of interested in the Callabrian Abbot. Her descriptions and analysis are very informative if not essential to puzzling out the meanings of the figurae. If you find it used somewhere grab it!! This is one of those really fine works that get horded away by great scholars and bibliophiles.
