Have an older son that enjoyed G.I.Joes for years. Hasbro had reissued the 3 and 3/4 inch heroes and I just had to give my younger son the same gratification. Getting to play with the same toys his brother had was a thrill for him.

Just received these in the mail and am pretty impressed with what i got. First we'll start with Zartan who looks almost the best sculpt i've seen of him yet. removeable chest plate, longbow with scope and 2 arrows and arrow holder make him quite the man. The only thing missing is a mask but in this (and the next few issues) he doesn't go in disguise, his only purpose is to assasinate Serpentor. Next we have Zarana who looks better than the first figure she came out with, expecially with the head sculpt. She comes with a black backpack and her rifle fan blade thing (has she ever used this weapon in either the comics or cartoon as I don't remember ever seeing it). Zarana looks good in this sculpt and more like a real 80's punk rocker woman. I did find it funny that someone told me that the arms she has were originally roadblocks in 1984. Next up is Cobra Commander or as it should be called, Fred VII. He uses the same body sculpt as the 87 commander and the impereal guards, the head and helmet though are entirely new. The head i've never seen but if we had a bunch of crimson guardsmen, this is what they'd look like.... wait we did have a few and none of the heads looked like this guys facial structure. The helmet is not loose so it nicely sits on without flopping on his head like some helmets do and is taller and skinnier than the original. The weapons are nothing like the 87 ones. The triangle backpack and laser gun have been replaced with a rifle and a pistol. A great set to get if you want an older (from the ones we have nowadays) commander or to relive when the real commander unmasks the imposter. Also nice to get a new Zarana and Zartan who I just love his gear.
