This is one of the best cake decorating books I have. Mr. Winbeckler is amazing and he is a great teacher. All the animals featured in the book are achievable by cake decorators of all levels. The instructions are very simple to follow and you will be making adorable cakes or cupcake characters in no time! I HIGHLY recommend!

I completely agree with the previous review listed on this book.It's very easy for anyone to do & goes step by step.I only wish there was even more ideas in it.Maybe they'll come out with a second edition for us!

After purchasing several of Mr. Winbeckler's pamphlets, videos and tools from his website and Amazon.com, I can accurately state that he is an excellent instructor and my decorating skills have improved tremendously. Phamphlets are packed with information but require practice and patience.

I had the pleasure of taking a class when Roland Winbeckler was in town several years ago. This book in particular is one of my favorites. I created all kinds of wonderful cupcakes -- the animals were easy to recreate. I even added them to my cakes with rave reviews.

The only thing that would improve this book would be to make it bigger! These ideas are truly unique and easy (well, if you do it step by step). Helped me to have a new outlook on decorating.

The book is excellent and the tutorials are easy to follow. It is more of a pamphlet than a book though.

So many cake decorating books require lots and lots of special equipment to look right-- all you need for this book is frosting and piping bags. Awesome, easy, cheap ideas, worth every penny.

This book is perfect for those needing ideas for characters for cakes, but it is also wonderful for making figures on top of cupcakes for any party. Easy to recreate, all you need is colored buttercream and a pastry bag, and the pictures are easy to follow. One of my favorites from Winbeckler.

This book was like those "How To Draw Cartoon" books that you'd buy at a grocery store. The instructions are basic pictures and some text and the end result is that you get what is on the cover. There are some tips like putting two colors of frosting in the same bag to get a mildly gradient effect and that looks great when used correctly. Overall though, if you aren't looking at the cover and thinking 'this is great!' then save your money because that's what you're getting. I did like this books because it's good piping practice beyond boring squiggles and you'll be able to tell more about frosting consistency. I did not like the figures. The cat and horse were cute with some alterations, but everything else was ... well, let me ask this: how many people can you serve a frosting pig too without them feeling either insulted, confused, or guilty about eatting that cupcake? Might as well write "Fat @$$" on it instead.

This book was just not for me so I returned it. I did not think I would ever do this type of decorating.
