5.0 out of 5 stars Figure Drawing Without a Model - An Instruction Book, December 28, 2010
This review is from: Figure drawing without a model,
In 1946 Clifford Young, who was already a lecturer at the At Institute of Pittsburg and the Grand Central School of Art in New York, published a modest book that covered just about everything you would need o know about drawing the figure.

The illustrations are clear and the subjects range from proportion to constructing the figure and lighting the figure. There are pages devoted to showing the figure in space and as it relates to everyday objects plus how to render the clothed figure and how fabric falls.

The book was a mass market magazine sized paperback and few of them have survived, if you get a chance, you should buy one.
