5.0 out of 5 stars Understand It Before You Judge It
It it always so irritating to see people adamantly disparaging a song when they have no idea what it's about. This song is not about a submissive woman with low self-esteem. It doesn't promote sexual violence. The song is about a man that is in love with a woman that develops a drug problem, and despite his infatuation with her realizes that he can't be with her. You...

1.0 out of 5 stars Figured You Out
I just heard the song "Figured you out" last week - June of 07'. I was flipping around on my car radio, and stopped on this song cause it totally rocked! But, once I payed attention to the lyrics, I was appalled they were playiing this song at 1pm in the afternoon! This song is degrading to women - it promotes sexual violence and applauds a female who is submissive and...

It doesn't promote sexual violence. The song is about a man that is in love with a woman that develops a drug problem, and despite his infatuation with her realizes that he can't be with her. You know, "too many long lines in a row", and "powder on your nose". He's in love with a coke addict.

Rather than worrying about society saying it's OK for radio stations to play this song (Heaven forbid parents take responsibility for what their children hear instead of relying on radio stations to parent for them), why not worry about a society that is so rabidly searching for something to by offended by that they jump with knee-jerk reactions to sing words or phrases instead of looking at the actual meanings behind the whole?

How can we as a society say it's okay for radio stations to play a song like this, especially during hours most children could be listening. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed in Nickelback for writing this song - as well as the new song "Rockstar". Shame on you guys. You may not have asked to be role models, but you are now. Show some integrity and live up to it.
