I am Graphic Designer and I sit 12-14 hours a day designing and most of the time, locked-in and bunker-ed down. So you can imagine how important it is to be properly equipped. Having the right portable rig and a good set of cans, makes it all more endearing (most can do with an iphone/pod and some simple buds, BUT NOT ME! :p ).

I was using a 4th Gen 32gb iPod touch with a Fiio L9 connected to a Fiio E17 (before that an E7) with 90% of the music in FLAC, AIFF, and ALAC. Using that much of lossless on an iPod can really put a strain the battery life. It would barely make it to the 11th hour (sometimes less), then I would have to put it on the charger and do away with the E17 making me a grumpy worker (I know, I'm picky heh).

The L11 has solved this almost year long problem. After two days of using it... I'm all smiles now! The constant conscience thought of my iPod dying is now non-existent. Now, I don't even have to put the iPod on standby and because it's dark where I work I let it blast on with full brightness :).

Oh and if you are wondering... ZERO feedback while charging (at least I haven't heard any yet). I tried my co-workers LOD (I think it was a Sendstation), pretty cool at first but, there was a tiny buzzing sound while charging while used in conjunction with an amp. The L11 performs flawlessly in this regard.

All in all good job Fiio! I'm loving this very much.

(Update: 09/17/13)
For the most part, it still does what its suppose to do and I still use it in the same fashion. Although my Ipod touch can barely last 2 hours without it now (no surprise). One thing I have noticed with it though, in comparison to the L9, the L9 sounds a tad warmer than the combination L11 and Monster iCable 800 that I currently use.

I wanted to be able to use a standard USB cable on my iPod and to be able to properly connect my FiiO E5 amp to it. I decided to kill two birds with one stone and purchase this adapter that does both. I was a little hesitant to buy it at first because I have Rockbox installed on my iPod and I wasn't sure if it would be compatible with it or not, but after seeing how cheap the price was, I decided to take the risk.

I received it yesterday and so far I'm very happy with it. It fits in the iPod perfectly and stays put, and the build quality is very nice ([EDIT] OR SO I THOUGHT). The first time I connected my FiiO E5 to the line out and pressed play I was just blown away on just how much of an improvement that it made on the sound quality. The bass is tighter and has more depth, the treble was cleaner and more detailed, and it gave me a wider, more refined soundstage than what I was hearing from the built in headphone jack on the iPod. Oh, and all the sound settings and EQ settings (except for volume) are also applied to the line output when you use Rockbox which is what I wanted so that's a plus for me. Then, I tested the USB jack on it and found out that it works exactly the same way as a regular sync cable would.

[EDIT] It just broke today. I plugged it into the bottom of my iPod and only the left channel was playing. Then when I went to pull it out, the 30 pin connector came out and stayed behind in the iPod. I decided to open the connector up to see what caused it to break. What I found out was that the 30 pin connecter wasn't embedded into the circuit board like I originally thought, but instead it was just soldered to the board by the pins themselves and the solder joints came loose and it fell right off.

I'm disappointed with FiiO now.

This is an excellent upgrade if you are using your iPad with an external amplifier. I have a Ray Samuels Hornet external amp and used to use it with the headphone out on the iPad 2. After adding this dock the sound is substantially improved. It outputs a stronger line out than the headphone out which means my amp does not have to be at high volume levels to sound entertaining. The sound is more balanced, cleaner and the soundstage is larger. This is a definite upgrade over the headphone out. I had tried the soundstation dock, though with another setup and I think that the Fiio is a better sounding dock. Buy this and there is no looking back!

I got this line out dock to use with my bluetooth and fm radio car adapters. It works well with the addition of an in-line volume control for the bluetooth headphone adaptor. It also allows you to charge and transfer data to/from your ipod (mine is a touch v4) via a mini usb cable instead of the ipod cable

Works perfectly, as described. Difference in audio quality is noticeable (I knew what to expect, since I've used direct line out before).
Hopefully FiiO will figure out a way to make something similar for new apple lightning connection.

This adapter works great in my mazda cx7 Car. You can totally notice the difference between using just an aux cable. Would buy again and of course i recommend it. Professional packaging, fast delivery, no issues with the product at all.

Does exactly what it's supposed to.

Word of warning- the USB connection is the older kind, mini think, instead of the new micro. Not a biggie.

BIGGER WORD OF WARNING- used with earphones this will be very loud. You will need external volume control, ipods' volume wheel does not work with the bottom jack.
