Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
This happens to be a very hot toy with just about every child wanting it, however, I wasn't so sure it was going to be that great of a toy. The price tag alone made me walk away from it more than a few times when birthday shopping. I have since changed my mind. I am surprised to say that this is a very durable and entertaining toy. My tween daughter has had it for a few weeks now and has yet to grow tired of it. She loves that she can get it to listen to her commands (aka - claps) and respond. She can teach it tricks (sit, beg, dance, etc.) and she can play games with it. This little toy does quite a bit to keep your child entertained. It's great for young ones, too. There aren't any parts that come loose or appear to be a choking hazard.
Since we do not have a fijit, I cannot say how well the yippit "plays" with the fijit or responds. However, I am sure as the Christmas season gears up, you'll see these cute little toys on display everywhere interacting with each other. I would suggest, though, that you pick one up ASAP if your child has been requesting it. I have a feeling that this toy might be one of the first to sell out by Christmas.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
Fijit Yippits are the newest addition to the Fijit line and they are one step behind the "big" Fijits in interactivity but still a lot of fun. My 7-year-old was disappointed that the Yippits don't have a chirp mode which allows them to communicate with the other Fijits. The original Fijit and Fijit Newbies have chirp mode which allows for some very limited interaction between them. Fijits will dance to the Newbies' music and Newbies can interact with each other by playing different parts of the same song together. Being how limited to function is, it wasn't too terribly missed in the Yippits. Scooch doesn't talk but instead acts more like a puppy and is able to be "trained" to do tricks based on how many times you clap. He will sit up, lay down, spin around and dance, all achieved by his little "peg legs" expanding and retracting in a specific order. Scooch will "forget" the tricks he learned every time he goes to sleep, but it is fun to reteach him as he learns pretty quickly. Repeating the trick 2-3 times is enough for him to learn the trick again and all tricks have been relearned in a few minutes. It is fun for my 7-year-old to reenact the process of teaching a puppy. Scooch also reacts randomly when one of his "eyebrows" are pressed, just like his older Fijit siblings. He will dance, spin, sing, pretty much do all the things he does in trick mode but in random sequence. Game mode is probably the most fun for my son and I to play together as it resembles "Simon" type gameplay wherein you have to repeat the pattern presented by Scooch with increasing difficulty which is a welcome addition over the original Fijit which didn't have any kind of game mode and very repetitive conversations. I'd take game mode over the same canned responses any day!

I do wish Mattel had held true to their promises to make all their Fijit products interactive not only each other but with iOS devices and their own website. I still feel kind of ripped off that they didn't ever expand on this facet of the product. Scooch is very well built, however, and has survived some pretty major drops. He's still going strong as are the Newbies and Fijit Sage from last holiday season. The Fijit line does not make any compromises when it comes to durability and that's always welcome. Overall I think Scooch is a fun addition but a bit overpriced. If he was closer to the $20 range I would say it's a must buy for fans of the Fijit line.

My kids absolutely loved this toy when it first came out of the box. It was like a cute blue alien puppy. The novelty wore off quickly though. Teaching the toy tricks was easy, except they always forgot to hit the button to tell the toy it had performed the trick correctly. The games were confusing, even to the adults. And it just wasn't well built enough to survive children fighting over it, as it eventually lost both back legs.

These are very cute and definitely yippity! I bought 2 and they are quite fun to watch, albeit noisy. I would recommend if you do not mind a little noise and mischievous laughter.

We bought this Fijit Friend for our granddaughter. She has several and usually has a specific type that she wants, but when we ordered that we got it and it was defective. When I went to order a replacement there were none available. So I made an executive decision. She was not only surprised but she totally loves it. I don't understand the fascination but I am not a kid.

Bought this for a 5 year old, and my 14 month old loves it just as much. It dances and does just as it says it will.

Cutest little things! And for the price paid it was well worth it. I didn't even mind if it didn't last that long, but the thing is still going! It might even be more diablo than the large fijit which we had for less than a year and it wasn't responding to most presses and started skipping - similar to the way a scratched music cd skips. It's hard plastic so not as fun as the regular fijit, but still a great toy.
