They fit as expected and he wears them everywhere!
The fit is perfect and they are sooo comfortable.
He has worn them almost everyday for the last 2 months, and they seem to be holding up quite well so far.

    I decided to purchase these to break away from traditional shoes. I first looked at Vibrams of course and the Five Finger products although I hear are amazing were not for me. Their price is very inflated and for people like me who's pinky toe is not existent the Four Toe design is very welcome! It says they are not intended for running which I believe is their way of staying away from patent infringement and legal liability because I run in them and love it. It is important that you give your feet a break-in period due to the fact that they are so used to shoes and not the natural motion. For me the Skeletoes have been perfect. I never could quite find the right shoes due to my wide feet and small arch. If you're a hardcore marathon runner these are probably not for you, but if you are an active recreational user these are perfect. The extent of my competitive running is doing 5k's. For the price the shoes can't be beat, so if you're curious and want a natural feel for recreation or even everyday use do yourself a favor and pick these up. You won't regret it.

    First, I'll start off by saying I was one of those that could not purchase the Vibram brand since my foot size is a solid 13 (not to mention I have extremely flat feet). When I saw the Fila model, I was doubtful at first because it looked like they were trying to make an off brand that could somewhat compare to Vibram; there are only four toe slots compared to Vibram's five toe slots. Even still, I purchased a pair.

    Now, I've never had a Vibram pair (remember, my foot is too big) but I'm quite alright with my Fila pairs (yes, I have more than one). They're comfortable, supportive, and fit my foot just great. Not to mention they have a better price.

    I know that a lot of people believe that you get what you pay for and that you need to buy the "real" brand in order to get your money's worth. Let me tell you, I'll be the first to debunk that theory. I purchased the first pair because I was getting back into the gym and was so impressed that I bought two more pairs. I don't have firsthand experience with the Vibram brand, but I'll support the Fila brand since they decided to make a shoe for people that have bigger feet.

    I have 2 pairs of these that I wear more and more frequently. The more I wear them, the less likely I am to grab a different set of shoes.

    PRO's:
    * Light Weight
    * Comfortable (YMMV)
    * Like walking around barefoot

    CON's:
    * weird looks (from friends and family)
    * smell (especially when NIB - airs out quickly)

    First off, while they don't mind getting wet (I've worn them in the pool), they aren't "water shoes". I have worn them for jogging, walking around, and hiking. They excel at all of these activities. They are also my favorite driving shoe - ever. I've had one pair for about a year now, and just bought a second pair because I was looking for another pair of tennis shoes, but couldn't find a pair that fit well.

    If you are used to traditional "tennis" shoes, these will feel a bit odd for a while. The sole under the ball of your foot is thicker than you are probably used to, and the heel has less of a wedge than you would be used to. Also there is the whole toe separation thing. For the first few times I wore them I did have some minor blisters on my toes and ball of my foot, as I wear them more often that is no longer an issue, and I have worn them all day on many occasions (although I am happy to get home and go straight barefoot...)

    Sizing: They seem to run small. get a bigger size than you think that you will need (or go up a half size) the back strap is there to adjust the heel of the shoe for half sizes, it will take a while for you to get the fit right, but when you do, they feel like a second skin on the sole of your foot.

    Wear and Tear: I generally wear out the inside of my shoes in the heel within 3 months. The fact that my first pair of these is a year old and still looks great, I am amazed.

    I was a little apprehensive buying shoes online without being able to try them on first. I would normally buy a 9 1/2 but half sizes are not available so I purchased a 10. Glad I did. These are very snug but comfortable. My doc recommended I get these to wear to work...I am on my feet moving non-stop a minimum of half my work day and was having foot pain and minor lower back pain. I'd tried all these cushioning ones without success so went in the opposite direction and tried something that was firmer. These worked perfectly. The sole bends freely with my foot but maintains support for my arch. The last two toes on the foot share one toe spot so there is no discomfort from having those two separated. I feel more able to maintain my balance, it's easier to feel what's under my foot without the worry of stepping on something I do not want on my bare foot. I will need to wear them for a few more weeks to give a complete review but at this point (2 days, if I was awake I had them on my feet.) I cannot comment on how well they will hold up to heavy use. Will report on the in a few weeks...

    You get what you pay for. These are about one third the price of Vibrams, but, to me, at least half as good. I use the Filas for toddling about and Vibrams to run and lift weights in. They are much easier for me to don and remove than Vibrams. I will continue to buy both, but would recommend the cheaper ones for those who haven't tried this type of shoe. Not so easy for running, but good for the gymn and canoeing.
