Simple, Easy to Use, Database,

Filemaker Pro 5.5's upgrade is more of the same. Its probably not worth buying if you own a recent edition of Filemaker Pro. However, if you are looking for an "entry level" database program this is a good one. Many people have something that can be used to qualify for a "competitive upgrade", e.g. an older (or current version of Microsoft Access if you got the Professional edition of Office 98 or 2000. Filemaker Pro is just more user friendly, the simplest database program of those I have tried for people who don't want to use Excel and try to make it perform like a database. However, for many people, learning the difference between files and queries may be too much and they will go back to just using Excel. If you take the time to learn it, you'll appreciate the greater flexibility it gives you. |
