5.0 out of 5 stars New Sham lineup , same Sham sound, February 20, 2001

First off... ignore the review below , that idiot reviewing the "X" Files instead of Sham's "A" files. But with only Jimmy Pursey and Dave Parsons of the original lineup , the band returns with a pretty good album. I didn't know if it was going to be any good , but it still has the same Sham sound that can be found on Tell Us The Truth , and That's Life. They may be old , but they're still punk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Sham sound, March 24, 2011

This review is from: The A Files (Audio CD)
An excellent offering from Sham 69, one of the better and more successful British punk bands yet still sadly under-appreciated by most fans of music of the time.

Sham made three excellent albums at the back end of the 70's: That's Life & Tell Us The Truth - both from 1978, and Hersham Boys from '79. Fans of the band waited for them to produce that sound again and everything else seemed to fall short of the mark for one reason and another. This album from 1997 caught their groove once again. Sham 69 were back with their best album in years and had given us the great feeling of their 70's efforts with a touch of musical maturity added for good measure. Except by this time, no-one was listening, so once again Sham 69 failed to get the recognition they deserved.

Overall, it is a well written and well produced album. Jimmy Pursey and Dave Parsons are the only original members of the band. Excellent British style punk with firm 70's roots that benefits from experience and better production values.
