Mead Wide-Ruled Filler Paper

10.5 x 8 inch sheet size

Stock up so you don't run out

Mead Filler Paper is a school staple. It's perfect for note taking, and is 3-hole punched for easy placement in a standard binder or pocket and prong folder. Simply remove the sheets from your binder at the end of the semester and start all over again. Wide-ruled paper offers more space between lines for clearer writing, and the margins are generous for efficient note taking.

We buy a lot of paper each year. Mead provides a good basic (cheap) paper that will no doubt meet the needs of most students. However, I find the paper to be thinner than expected which may be an issue for those who exert significant pressure when they write or those who rely on their trusty eraser to get them through the day. It's OK - nothing great - a good utilitarian option but for wide-ruled paper (for younger students) I think it really shouldn't be quite so thin.

Pricing Note (not part of the review):

The price as I write this review is $1.33 for 200 sheets of wide-ruled filler paper. That is the delivered price if you are an Amazon Prime member or combine with other products to get Super Saver Shipping. If the price is higher as you read this review you may want to consider coming back at the start of the next school season and stocking when they are on sale.

I am a home school mom of 2 boys. I don't have a car so I try to shop online. I thought this was a good deal-wrong! After about 20 pages the problems started. The lines on the paper were all messed up or not there at all, some pages were in halves and stuck together and to top it all off when I made my monthly trip to Walmart I found much more paper(almost double) for MUCH less. How sad.

I wasn't expecting much since I've read the reviews before purchasing that said the papers were thin. For my 5 year old just learning to write, it's good enough. However, for any other uses, I won't recommend.

This paper has a kind of waxy texture that doesn't allow pencil graphite to show up clearly on it. When you erase it, it leaves very strong imprints. Do not buy!

I agree with one of the reviewers: this must be a re-packaged inferior 99 cent quality product resold for a profit. Pages are literally see-through.

I bought this and when it came in the plastic cover was open from the bottom. It seems like they just repackaged non-branded line paper and put it into a plastic bag with a Mead title cover. I would not recommend purchasing this product.

Horrible thin, almost see-trough, weak paper. I expected more from this brand since it had a reputation of producing quality products in the past when it comes to school supplies.
I started writing on this paper with my mechanical pencil when I noticed that the lines looked very light and soft compared to a regular old paper from the same brand (had bought a box with 10 of these items about two years ago). I erased the writing but the imprints of the pencil marks were too strong and I could still read the old writing on the paper. Did the same thing on about 10 other pages from different sections of the packet and the same thing happened.

Another issue is the size of the paper. Mead changed from the letter size which is 11"x8.5" (216x279mm) down to 8"x10.5" (266x203mm) without warning on the cover of the packet. That is not even a standard size for any type of paper but Mead just did it because they think they can get away with it. After all they have a reputation they can live from if consumers don't pick up on this type of issues.

I won't have smaller weak paper next to my standard size one inside my binder and I invite you to think twice before buying this product.

Just in case you're not familiar, paper is measured in pounds per 500 pages. In this case if you were to order 500 sheets, you would get 16 pounds of paper. This is a 200 pack, exactly as the description says.
